Thursday, November 1st - Day Eight: RABBITS!

If "Rabbits" is the very first thing you say when you wake up on the first of a new month, then it's supposed to bring good luck all month long. Don't ask, 'cause I honestly have no idea lol.

Greg and I got up and got ready, headed down for a homemade English breakfast, and headed off to the castle for the day! It was an absolutely gorgeous day - Chilly, a chilly breeze, but plenty of sun and blue skies! I didn't even need my coat *gasp*! The castle was damn awesome, too. It was more of a residential castle, than a defensive one. But, it was one of the first places to have hydroelectricity in England! There were SOOOOO many stairs. We went up and down long flights on small, dark spiral staircases from the bottom to the top to the bottom again of those circular buildings. There was also an adorable little ghost show, much like a Halloween Horror Nights type house where you went in and "ghosts" popped out at you as they told you a tale of the servant who killed his master and then went mad, ulimately taking his own life in guilt.

You'll never guess what we had for lunch - that's right! Toad in the Hole! hahaha.

Aunt Caz and Mum came back to pick us up later in the day, and on the way back to Northampton we stopped in Stratford Upon Avon and briefly checked out Shakespeare's childhood home. In the gift shop, Greg bought me a silver ring replica of a ring that was found in an archeological excavation of the Rose Theatre that says, in Old French: "Think of me, God willing." It's lovely, though it's silver which means I can't wear it on my finger, else it will turn black. So, I have it on the same necklace as my Claddagh which I wear everyday :)

Right by here was a little shop called "The Creaky Cauldron," and yes, it is a Harry Potter rip off lol It's a cute little show filled with Harry Potter inspired candies and memorabilia; brooms; spell kits; incense; and a witchcraft and wizardry memorobilia museum. It was awful weird and over priced lol
