Friday, October 26th - Day Two: Windsor!

You'd think after a, what felt like a, 24 hour journey that we would all be exhausted, but this was not the case. Well, it was, but we decided to truck through it and stay up, so we were tired in time for an appropriate bed time in London time, helping to adjust to the jet lag.
After a traditional English breakfast [bangers, aka British pork sausages; eggs; beans; fried toast; English bacon; and chips, aka: fries] at a traditional Motorside service station on the drive home from London to Northampton, we settled our junk into my Aunt's house, changed, and headed back to London to return the car [that I didn't even like anyway]. Since we were in the area anyway, we decided to do stuff around the London vicinity, without going into the city [there's a congestion fee to drive into the city]. We went to Windsor, home of Queen's weekend residence, Windsor Castle!
The guided tour included the actual Castle and staterooms, and the chapel on property, which I think was called St. George's. The highlights included: the burial place of my two favorite monarchs, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I; Katherine of Aragon's chapel chaimber; Henry VIII's personal armour; and the Grand Ballroom [where the Queen Mother hosts her shin-digs]. The flag was raised and waiving the day we visited, which means that her majesty was either already on property, or was expected sometime that day.
I'm such a Historical English nerd, that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and didn't even notice how exhausted I was. It was also a typically British day, with little to no sunshine, a biting wind, and a dampness in the air. Meaning, it was PERFECT! :D It was all capped off with a dinner of Fish and Chips!
