Telephone Adalat settled all cases
COOCH BEHAR, June 26: An Open House Session of Cooch Behar Telecom District of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was held at Cooch Behar on Monday. A Telephone Adalat was also held on the occasion.
In the Open House Session the Telecom District Manager, Mr MK Seth informed the dignitaries that were invited to attend the session about various developmental programme taken up to facilitate the customers. Mr Seth appreciated the efforts taken by the concerned BSNL officials for maturing its mission for better communication in Cooch Behar Telecom District region. He assured providing of latest technology at most affordable rate to the remotest corner of the district in a phased manner.
The TDM, Mr Seth mentioned at the Open House Session that about 500 PCOs would be given in Cooch Behar during July to the unemployed youths.
Referring the “Mission Better Communication” Mr Seth said that Cooch Behar was the first Telecom District where this mission was going to be started for increasing the convenience of the customers. Implementing of the master plan will take up about six months for changing the telecom scenario in this zone. By this mission the people of Cooch Behar will be able to avail facilities like high speed Internet, broadband and various data services.
The Cooch Behar TDM said that such a plan takes more than 24 months to complete the network but in Cooch Behar they were trying to complete it within six months. Due to heavy labour engagement in the process, the existing services may be disrupted for which he requested the customers to co-operate for their convenience in near future. Extensive digging started in different areas of Cooch Behar district for laying of cables for upgradation of network. During this massive programme the customers may face interruption of services but they should co-operate for betterment of services, he added.
In the Telephone Adalat, all the cases were discussed and amicably settled on the spot by the TDM. He heard the grievances of subscribers’ complaints and handled cases on settlement of bills, long pending bills, addition in capacity, excess billing and service related complaints.
