COOCH BEHAR, Aug. 19: Forty-three supporters of The Greater Cooch Behar Peoples’ Association (GCPA) including its general secretary Mr Bangshi Badan Barman were produced in the court of Cooch Behar District and Sessions Judge in connection with two cases today. The judge Mr Nripendra Nath Ghosh ordered the next date of hearing as 27 September. 

The lawyer of the accused, Mr Shibendra Nath Roy said that 43 persons out of 45 were produced today because two were ill. The two cases were connected with murder of an additional SP and two police personnel, he said. The violence took place on 20 September of last year during an agitation organised by the GCPA. No bail petition was submitted in the court on behalf of his clients today, Mr Roy added. []
