River water rising in Cooch Behar 

COOCH BEHAR, June 28: Following heavy downpour the water levels of all the rivers flowing through Cooch Behar district are raising. But the levels are still under the danger mark. District Flood Control Room sources said that Cooch Behar recorded 160-millimetre rainfall in the past 24 hours. It is 983.20-milimetre in this season. The rainfall in Tufanganj and Mathabhanga during the past 24 hours was recorded as 108.20-milimetre and 148.80-milimetre. Total rainfall in this season in Tufanganj and Mathabhanga are 1036.10-milimetre and 893.60-milimetre. No fresh warning about heavy shower arrived here today.

Meanwhile, the yellow signal that was imposed on Tuesday evening in the unprotected areas from Domohini to Indo-Bangladesh border was withdrawn today following receding of water level of Tista river. []
