Evans wants to say ![]() Welcome back, all!
Lisa and I just checked out of The Celtic House, our Kilkenny BnB, and are getting ready for the drive down to Waterford. We were out last night in search of live traditional Irish music, but had to settle for live contemporary Irish music instead. We heard two bands at The Pumphouse that weren't bad. The first was somewhat like Alice in chains, and the second a sort of grunge REM/Cranberries. Neither was particularly my kind of stuff, but they were pretty good. I've found Kilkenny to be very much a young person's scene, for the most part, and it has by far the most pubs per capita of the places we've been so far. So if anyone out there is looking for a good place to party with hip, loud, twenty-somethings, this is the place to go. The best times I've had in Kilkenny have been just relaxing in the quieter areas, drinking in the scenery, which is surprisingly out of contrast with the energy of the people. All in all, it's a tasty blend of really ancient history and youthful exhuberence. Fascinating. . . I'm very much looking forward to see what Waterford has in store for us. Wow, this was a great idea -- I am loving reading the blog and seeing the pictures. You two look like you are having sooo much fun, I sooo wish we had been able to be there with you. Think we could have smuggled Tristan into the pubs like we do at BarFN? LOL Can't wait to see how wild the pics get when the rest of you all get there! Have a Guinness for me please please please. Daily. That's an order.
