Today's stock pick is PetroChina (PTR).  As a non-US company, they are somewhat protected from the waves of bad news hitting the US market.  PTR is a large company with a decent dividend and fairly strong fundamentals.  The only worrisome number is the quick ratio, 0.50.  With strong numbers everywhere else, there must be something weighing down that financial strength measure.  Nevertheless, with the market as it is now, PTR is one of the better plays to make.
