Special Report: No Recession For You!
There's been a lot of concern affecting the market, with people saying there will be a recession and citing any number of reasons. This talk has been going on for a long while. I own over 30 stocks, many of which I have held for more than a year. I check their value daily to see how much I've gained or lost in each. You know what? I don't see any evidence of a looming recession. It's certainly true that the financial sector has been pulling the market down, but the market right now is like a willow branch. Once the stressors in the financial sector let up, it'll bounce back strong. A few banks and lenders are going to collapse, and some may be weakened permanently, but that's no different from what's been happening in the past. I've already experienced a financial stock going bankrupt on me, long before the "housing crisis" ever happened. Businesses sometimes go belly up. It happens. Right now what we should all be doing is buying strong companies as the market declines. Everything will right itself in time, and the strong companies won't bend very far down. I really don't believe there's going to be a recession. 2008-01-08 21:17:26 GMT
