Stock Pick 12/27/2007: UG
On a day when the market suffered dramatically, some stocks continued to gain in value. One of the stars of the market right now is TNH. I found myself wondering, what about other stocks in the same industry as Terra that also seem to be doing well? Enter United Guardian (UG). UG has some really nice fundamentals. The management effectiveness percentages ROE, ROA, and ROI are all above 15%. It would be better if they were above 20%, but 15-20 is a decent enough range. The profit margin is 26.1%, indicating growth potential. The P/E and P/S average is 9.89, which is not bad either, and there is a 5.2% annual dividend. The worrisome aspects of this stock are the microcap properties: only $53.67M capital, and a TTM cash flow not significantly larger than the annual dividend. If you like microcaps and risk, this might be a worthy pick. It certainly has the potential to grow, but a few things may have to change before that can happen. 2007-12-28 02:02:38 GMT
