This has gotta be the craziest news item of the silly season yet.  Astronomers meeting in Prague could reclassify Pluto as a new kind of planet, called a Pluton.  The result of this would mean that other celestial bodies would get reclassified as well as Plutons and our solar system would grow from being 9 planets, to being 12.  The International Astronomical Union would vote on this plan on Thursday 24th August.

Personally, I think they should throw this whole idea back into whichever rubbish bin they got it out of, because it is totally... ridiculous.
