This is a new daily feature, where I pick my five favourite stories of the day, and rank them from 5 to 1, hence the name. So, here we go...

5. We haven't even had the Congressional Elections yet, but already, the possible candidates are getting into position for a run at the White House in 2008, but a new poll doesn't make good reading for some of these potential candidates, both Democrat and Republican.

4. If I told you the Earth is surrounded by giant fizzy bubbles, you'd probably think I was nuts, but, according to this report, there are giant, bubbles of superhot gas, growing and popping all around our planet.

3.  Mother Nature, meet New Technology! The Calgary Zoo has webcast live, the birth of an Osprey chick, online. If you missed it, there's still a chance to an egg hatch, as there are 2 more eggs in the nest.

2. How many of us remember that Tasmanian Devil, who was always trying to make a meal out of Bugs Bunny? Well, the Tasmanian government are putting him to better use, informing the public of the disease that the real Tasmanian Devils are suffering from.

1. A crazy Conneticut cat, who is an alleged serial scratcher, has been ordered by a judge to stay inside his owner's house at all times.  Yeah, right! Like I can see a cat doing what a judge tells him to do!
