The New 2006 Jeep Commander is about to arrive.  What an excellent interputation of what the Jeep Brand is all about in the face of the import dilution of the SUV category.  This is the first real 4X4 SUV with three rows of seats and a refined road ride.  The engine availability will be the same as the engines on the 2005 - 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  that means that the HEMI V8 is available.  This 5.7L HEMI V8 coupled with the 5-Speed Tranny, Quadra-DriveII 4X4 system with electronic locking front and rear diferientials makes the Jeep Grand Cherokee a very impressive and competive 4WD Sports Car.  Look at the stats and consider that even the most advanced sports cars are AWD.  The Jeep Grand Cherokee has 330 hp and 390 ftlb of tq, and it is able to find the one wheel with traction in less than a split second.  Factor in that the Hemi version has the electronic stability program and I would march the grand cherokee against anything made today.  Just don't cry foul if the Jeep driver takes a shorter route over the mountains and valleys because it is capable and driving on all terrain without affecting the manufacturers warranty!  The Jeep Brand has emerged from the onslaught with a winning combination of vehicles and powertrains.  Let's see what you have to say!
