I never got the mommy manual!!!
Ramblings from a slightly insane woman about being a mom and things I've learned.
Please support our troops...

I've been hearing alot of things lately that I find so disturbing when it comes to what people think of the men and women who serve our country.  I will not share my opinions here about what I think about this war or wether or not I believe we should be there.  It is irrelevent at this point because WE ARE THERE. One could argue the political side of this thing to death, but how does that help?  I am speaking solely about those who serve, not the decision makers or the politicians.  It has been my fear that since SOME of those protesting this war can't get anywhere with the powers that be, that the backlash will eventually hit where it never should.  Our troops and their families.

I've heard things said by people who don't think they are heroes, "well they chose this job".  That is EXACTLY what makes them heroes.  They chose to serve their country so that other sons and daughters, fathers and mothers could make their OWN CHOICES.  Without the choice and sacrifice made by our troops, no one would have the freedom to choose at all.

FREEDOM...we've had it so long that I think we've begun to take for granted what it cost to acheive and keep it.

Let's not forget the unsung heroes, the families who wait and worry.  I am a military mom and as hard as that is, I have to say, I don't know how the spouses do it.  They also sacrifice, so other families won't have to. Not only do they do it, they do it with their heads held high with pride.  Their strength and faith makes them heroes in every sense of the word.

So the next time you see a military wife or husband take a second of your time to say Thank You.  They also serve this country.

No matter what your political views may be or how you feel about this war.  Please support our troops and their families, they need our support, and it's easy enough to give.

                          IT IS THE SOLDIER
It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.

Image It is the soldier, not the campus
organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier,
Who salutes the
flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
