So we've spent the last couple of weeks moving into our 'temporary accommodation'. It's really not that bad, as the photo shows, so try not to feel too sorry for us having to put up with 'temporary accommodation'. Of course the images that are conjured up can be used to advantage when trying to get the plans for the house hurried along. We've decided on our final scheme for the extension, so the planning application should have gone in this week. There's been much diplomacy involved with our neighbour. Charlie has built a full scale representation of the proposed new boundary wall from bits of hardboard and timber battens left over from the roofing work, so that our neighbour can get an idea of what it will be like. He's said he'll object, which is fair enough, because it does block out some light and change his aspect, but for now it's up to the planners to decide. But he did say he'd allow us access for building work if we are successful, which is very decent of him.
