Yesterday was really enjoyable. Andrew, Ben and Charlie built the shed. Of course, Charlie has been looking forward to this moment for a while now, the culmination of weeks of excitement about a simple wooden structure. For an entertaining look at the relationship between man and shed, see

Charlie answered, and replied that he was just on his way to the hardware shop to buy some bolts which were missing from the kit. "Better make if brief" he said, "I've left the boys holding together two sections while I go the shop." Other than that, the build was straightforward enough. Bec then asked:
"did you get it out into the garden OK?"
"yes, but we had to make some alterations to the back door"
"Oh? "
"It's not there anymore, and we had to demolish the step"
We managed to make the place secure at the end of the day, and the damage will be repaired eventually, along with the rest of the house. Ben was particularly enthusiastic about the modifications, saying that we could perhaps remove the bathroom window and widen the aperature with a sledge-hammer. Charlie vetoed this idea.
Shed records:
Most Christmas trees behind shed:
32, set by Arthur Bowers (Bolton, UK) between 1963 and 1995, when at the end of the festive period he would place the tree behind the shed with the intention of taking it down the tip, but not getting around to it.
(Adapted from The Sexist Book of Records, which I can't find).
