It was wet and windy during the small hours of the morning, severe gales battered much of the West Country with gusts up around the 80mph mark. Just the kind of weather to be having the tiles taken off the roof leaving the rafters and the felt exposed. When the roofing work was started a week ago it was gloriously sunny, looking as though Spring was here. We never expected the freak reversal which seems to happening at the moment.

This makes me think of a camp site we once visited that had a swear box in the reception, that instead of making people pay up when they swore made them pay up whenever they mentioned the weather.

The photo shows the bay from inside the bedroom at the front of the house. Once the slates are re-instated there'll be a nice photo of the outside resplendent with its arrowhead detail. Geoff the roofer is a traditional sort and was quite keen to put things back the way they would have originally been, which pleased us.
