INTJ to stay?
Today I noticed that a friend of mine had joined his 'personality group' on Facebook, so I thought I might as well go and re-explore my supposed personality according to Myers-Briggs typology. Strangely enough, I don't seem to be able to get a different result, no matter how many variations of these tests I take, or what mood I'm in, or whatever circumstances are surrounding me, I still wind up being classified as "INTJ" (Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging).
However, if INTJ types only represent around 1% of the population, then why can I find 597 members in the INTJ group online? Well here's a long shot - INTJ types may not be utterly social, but they're correlational and they're 'systems' people, so it would make perfect sense for them to cluster together for the purposes of research and solidarity online... without even upsetting their semi-introverted personalities.
I recall taking the paper version of the Kiersey Temperament Sorter II as a component of SUNY's MSc, and the result was the same. So now I guess I'm stuck with my label. I think it's time to experiment on my dear partner and see what kind of label she's given... maybe it's time to use this knowledge to help people understand each other better and to interface with increased empathy. Notice how I just expressed the concept of empathy in a dry, analytical fashion? Typical INTJ!
