Back from Key West.  Remarkably, no one let me in on the fact that there would be dozens of feral chickens wherever we went.  And mainly painfully hoarse roosters by the sound of them.  This was the first time I've spent in the Keys and I enjoyed.  Really how can you not enjoy thrusting yourself into the 80s after being in the 40s for the past several weeks.

Our primary activity was walking.  We walked everywhere.  Likely 10+ miles the first day, after which E had to switch from flip flops to hiking shoes when he could no long stand.  After walking, we spent the most time eating and drinking.  Not enough can really be said about stepping off the sidewalk into a bar, ordering a drink then continuing to stroll down main drag.  Nope.  Especially with the kind of people-watching fodder we had down there.

The weather was fair to good the entire time, though no laying out was accomplished  :  (  Oh, and we saw a homeless man with gangrene on his arm.

Of note, traveling home with a 5 hour layover at Miami International was shockingly smooth.

Also of some minor note, it's my birthday today.  That's right, Sean Taylor died on my birthday.  Not that I have the official time of death or anything; I mean, he certainly could have passed late yesterday.  Just not news that I'd ever expect to wake up to on November the 27th.  I expect to have more thoughts on this birthday thing at some point, but the Sean Taylor murder has me feeling less than effusive.
