Commander,
Glad to see you made it to the Comm Center after losing your platoon. Don't take it too hard,
the CCA is launching another major counterattack against our forces. We've located the CCA
Recycler we believe is producing those jumped up Flankers that knocked out your forces. It
is located in a crater to the NW of your position. We've dropped a Radar aware Nav nearby;
we need you to get there as quick as you can. One of the heavy artillery pieces moving up
to engage that CCA base escaped the assault and is available for use. We need you to target
that Recycler and have the artillery destroy it. That's no ordinary artillery piece you've
got there, Commander; it can really do a number on that Recycler. We've downloaded some info
on using that artillery; ID the Comm Center to read it. It's vital that you succeed here,
Commander, we cannot risk sending any production units in there with that Recycler in play.
When you get to Nav 2 ID the Nav for a situation update.

MISSION NOTES/WALKTHROUGH
This mission is different enough that it warrants a bit of explanation, but before you read
this try getting through on your own, the section below will give a few things away.

Your first objective is straightforward enough, get to Nav 2. You will come under fire from
pilots and soldiers, snipe them before they do you any damage. The enemies in this level
are a bit different, pilots will fire yellow tracers at you, and some are also kneeling,
but don't worry, they don't have sniper rifles. There are some snipers on the map, however
they will appear as "Player" on your reticle. Once you get to Nav 2, ID it and remember the
info. Now move to the crater and target the CCA Recycler, and order the American Artillery
to fire on it. It will say "Out of Range" a few times, just order it to keep firing. That
Howitzer WILL blow up the Recycler. As you are doing this, watch your back for enemies
coming up behind you. You may want to engage them away from the crater; there are CCA fighters
down there that will come for you if they detect you. (No, you can't snipe them for a free
ride.) Once the Recycler is destroyed, time for part 2, killing Major Romeski. As the Nav
says go about 2.9KM (2900m) NE, actually just a bit East of NE until you find his APC. If
you can't find it try going to Sat View and scanning the general area, watching your
reticle for the name. Once you find it, Major Romeski is a few hundred meters East, with
other soldiers near some relics. You may want to sneak around back of these for cover, and
ID Romeski (his name will appear on your reticle so you know who to snipe). Once you kill
him the mission will end. You can get resupplied at Nav 3 if you're hurt, watch out for the
CCA guards. Also, don't try to get the Howitzer to come pick you up - it can't.

Installation Instructions

Before you begin, exit Battlezone if it is running.

1) All the files in the zip file need to be unzipped into your BattleZone\addon directory
(folder).

2) Do not modify any of the files in any way!  The map will no longer work and/or lose
   multiplayer compatability.

Game Startup
------------

Open up a DOS box, change to your Battlezone directory, and type: bzone longshot.bzn /nointro
OR: Use IA launcher, get this at geocities.com/younggunsclan

Do not restart the mission from the Escape screen - the mission will not work correctly.
exit Battlezone completely and start over.

Credits: Thanks to dx for the new sniper parameters, used them to disable jumping for the
player, and speed up the turn rate on kneeling pilots.
