Description:

This is version 2.0 of High Octane. There are some changes, the most important being the
use of all custom odf files, which eliminates MVM errors when playing online with this
mission installed. I have also rebalanced the units and weapons somewhat, as it was very
easy to take out an enemy factory before with the jumped up tanks. Now, the Gun Towers
have more armor, and are better placed, the W-Powers have 10000 Hull (even more than
the Gun Towers) and the armor on the CCA Recycler and Factory is MUCH higher than on the
standard units. You will find that you can't take out an enemy production unit very
easily, you will need to bring some friends along. The CCA turrets also have Blast Cannons
now, so they can hit you 300 meters away, be aware of this.

You still have a custom Armory, and some custom weapons. These include the SP-Stabber,
Blast Cannon, Chain Gun, Rocket, and Prox Mine. All the weapons have had their ranges
reduced, to force the player to get closer (within the 200 meter AI range) in order to
attack. The SP-Stabber hits harder than the regular SP-Stabber, and has a better rate of
fire. The same thing applies to the custom Blast Cannon. The Rocket has a range of about
200 meters, travels more quickly, and dishes out MASSIVE splash damage, in addition to
increased impact damage. The Chain Gun is a jumped up minigun that really rips up enemy
tanks. The Prox Mine has more bang, and lasts indefinitely. If you have a spare moment
it might pay off to lay a screen of these around your base. The Rave Guns and Arc Mines
have been removed as I felt they unbalanced the game.

You will start off in your base, which is in a crater. Your mission is to destroy the
CCA bases, and then to eliminate the other CCA production units. Shortly after the mission
begins you will come under attack by several CCA vehicles, and after that it's up to the
AI, you will probably be in for one vicious fight. The vehicles in this level are much faster,
and are equipped with some nasty weapons, this applies to both sides. Because of the
increased destructive capacity and speed the AI units will frequently get into your base and
wreak havoc. You may find that the best defense is turrets deployed about the base with tanks
ordered to follow them, rather than Gun Towers. Even so, you will probably lose a lot of
units. Right at the start I recommend dropping the new Blast Cannons into at least a couple
of your Gun Towers, you will find this really helps on defense. I would build 3-4 turrets
right away also, and position them about the crater. You have more starting scrap in this
version than in the first one, use it. Your Recycler cannot build factories, but it builds
several custom units, and a custom Constructor also, along with the custom Armory. Your tanks
all have 2 custom SP-Stabbers, and will probably be the mainstay of your defense; ordered
to follow turrets and production units, they will tear up enemies in a hurry. The turrets
have better armor and a rapid turn rate. They are equipped with 1 new heavy Chain Gun.
Your Light Tanks have one new Blast Cannon. These are handy if you are really getting pounded
and need new units in a hurry; the build time for these is very short. The Bomber has 1 new
SP-Stabber and 1 heavy Rocket, these bombers can do massive amounts of damage in a hurry,
especially if you put another rocket into the 2nd Rocket hardpoint. These bombers are 
definitely the units to take along when you decide to go Recycler hunting. All of your
combat units (and the Constructor also) have significantly increased speed.

The Constructor can build custom W-Powers, with a 10000 hull value, similar to the ones the
CCA has (standard powerplants wouldn't last long on this map). It also builds a custom
Field HQ and Hangar which will rearm/repair your tank quickly. There are two of these built
for you already just outside the crater. You will also have Satellite at the start, it comes
in handy and you may not have time to go looking for a place to set it up later. There are
scrap fields on the map, but the CCA will probably get to most of them first, don't worry
about it, you'll have plenty of scrap from the fighting. Keep an eye out for Walkers, and
snipers too, there are several on the map, and they WILL try to snipe you.

Installation Instructions

Before you begin, exit Battlezone if it is running.

1) All the files in the zip file need to be unzipped into your BattleZone\addon
directory (folder).

2) Do not modify any of the files in any way!  The map will no longer work and/or lose
   multiplayer compatability.

Game Startup
------------
Open a DOS box, change to your Battlezone directory and type:  bzone hioctane.bzn /nointro

OR: Use the Battlezone Control Panel - download from the LaunchPad at PlanetBattlezone.

Don't use the Restart Mission option from the Escape screen - IA missions don't work correctly
when you do this. Exit Battlezone completely to restart.


Credits: ABC Warriors clan for ideas and weapon files. Used the WAV file from their weapons
archive for the Chain Gun.
