He watched her.
As she took orders from an old couple, he noticed her smile, the graceful way she moved. He loved watching her, she was so beautiful. She looked up and saw him, smiled, holding up one finger, Just a minute, she mouthed. His heart ached for that smile. But they could never be together. He had watched her from afar, treating her with such indifference, that she never caught on.
As the years went by, his puppy love blossomed into full-grown love, but he hid it, deep within his soul. He looked on as she grew up, becoming more beautiful with every year. She never noticed his constant stares, his wishful glances, no one noticed. Not even his closest friends..
She walked over to him, smiling softly,�What can I get you.�
He glanced down at his menu,�Uh, a cherry cola, and um, some spacefries.�
She finished writing down his order,�Okay, that�ll only take a few minutes.� Then she left.
True to her word, a few minutes later his order was ready.�Damn, I forgot your tabasco sauce, I�ll be right back.�
It would be so easy to just follow her, back to the kitchen. Just follow her and kiss her. But he never would, that would mean betraying his family, his best friend. No, they could never be together.
She came back holding a bottle, placing it on the table, she asked, �Anything else Michael?�
Nope, they could never be together.
�No,�He smiled, in one of his rare good moods.�Thanks, Liz.�
After all, how did you tell your best friend�s girlfriend you�re in love with her?
