Title: If They Only Knew
Author: Jenn
The Disclaimer & Such: Sadly *sniffle* I do not own Roswell or any of
its characters. Max, Liz & co. belong to Melinda Metz & the United
Paramount Network (You lucky people). All other characters in the story are
mine. But if I had my way I would definitely own Jason Behr ;)~~ ok that's
enuff I'm getting carried away. On with the show.
Rating: R ~ For situations and language
Category: Would you expect anything else? M/L mostly but the gang's
all there. Hey I’m a total Dreamgirl!!
Summary: For three and a half years, Elizabeth Parker has kept a
dark secret from her friends. The real question is if her friends knew her
secret would they all still love her?
Author’s Note:This is a Tess-free Alterna-Roswell. Let’s pretend that
they rescued Max and things went back to what they consider to be normal.
Nasedo did replace Pierce but little Miss Homewrecker Harding died in a car
accident a few years back so technically their destinies don’t exist anymore.
This story takes place towards the end of their junior year (April-May).
Feedback: Greatly appreciated.......I know I still haven’t finished “My
Ain’t That Just An Interesting Twist of Fate” yet but I got the inspiration
for this one and felt compelled to write it. I hope you like it.
Now on to your regularly scheduled fanfic.................

Part 12: The Shitith Hath Hitith The Fan & Then
Some....
“Hi.” The little boy said timidly.
Maria gasped in shock. “That means he’s like you guys.” She whispered to
Micheal.
He nodded dumbly, unable to speak.
Montega busted out of the kitchen; she had heard voices and recognized one
in particular. Upon opening the door, she made a mad dash for Marc. “Marc!
Marc!” She shouted. But she stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed
how pale he was. She also noted the little boy peering out from behind
him.
“Who’s this?” She asked curiously.
“My-my s-s-s-son.” He stuttered in response.
She nodded with a look of confusion on her face. “Okay.”
“Mama?”
Liz tore her eyes away from the scene in front of her to acknowledge her
daughter. “Baby?”
“What’s going on?”
Max pulled Marc in an shut the door hastily. “We all really need to sit
down.”
“Why?”
“Trust me Marc.” Montega said. “This is no time to argue. Just sit.” She
pushed him towards the couch and grabbed Little Marc’s hand.
Marc Jr. flinched as she flung her hands about. It didn’t go unnoticed by all
the other occupants of the room.
Marc’s fists clenched up tightly at his son’s actions. Jana would never ever
hit him. So she’s out. Kevin wouldn’t have been that cruel if she had stayed
with him all that time. If he had laid just one hand on Marc, Jana would have
taken off. So who the hell hit him?
Meanwhile Liz’s thinking had been along the same lines. Jana wouldn’t
touch him. Kevin wouldn’t touch him. Jana would have killed him on the spot if
he did. Which only leaves Kivar...
The tension in the room was so thick that it could’ve, at that moment, been
cut by a knife. Montega decided to calm the boy down a bit. She felt the
conflicting emotions flowing from him strongly, which only meant one thing.
He was like her: special. So she decided he needed some consoling; in a way
that only she knew how. Can you hear me?
The surprise registered in Jr.’s eyes but he said nothing out loud. Yes. Are
you like me?
What do you mean like you?
You can do things with your mind, right? My mom, and both my uncles can
too.
I think so. My Mama and I are special. But my Uncle Micheal, Aunt Isabel,
and Mama’s boyfriend Max can do some of the same things I can.
Special?
We’re the Chosen Ones. My Mama and I.
What’s your name?
Montega.
Little Marc found himself surprised again. He glanced at her waringly. She
looked exactly like her mother. Except for her eyes. They were a sharp,
crystal, shade of blue. He recognized the shade immediately. But chose to
play dumb until the time was right. His mother didn’t raise him to always be
on the look out for nothing.
What’s yours?
Marc.
So you’re my Mama’s, cousin’s son, huh?
I guess so. He sighed inwardly. I miss my Mom though.
Where is she?
She and Uncle Kevin sent me to be with my Dad. Said it was for my own
protection.
A voice in their heads interupted their conversation. And it is.
Montega gave her Uncle Micheal an apologetic look.
Who’s that? Marc asked Montega as he caught he glancing at a spiky
haired guy sitting on the couch.
My Uncle Micheal. Uncle Micheal say hi to Marc.
Hi to Marc. Both kids couldn’t help but giggle at Micheal’s childishness.
You two need to learn to be a little quieter when you’re talking. He sent
back in all seriousness.
But we’re not talking. Marc quipped.
Micheal shook his head at the boy. Just like his father. Yes you are. You
may not be saying things aloud but you are definitely talking. And you need
to learn to be quieter about it. I’m surprised I’m the only one that heard you
two.
Sorry Uncle Micheal.
Sorry.
Don’t be sorry guys. Just don’t let it happen again. You have to be
careful.
Both children nodded in silent understanding. They then redirected their
attention back towards each other. Montega must have sent him something
funny, because little Marc had a big smile on his face.
Micheal smiled. It figures that Montega would get the kid to open up. She
was just like her mother.
Liz noticed the smirk on Micheal’s face. She looked around the room and
quickly realized that she was the only one that did. “What’s so funny?” She
asked as she elbowed him to get his attention.
“I was just having a conversation with your daughter and your little cousin
there.”
Liz nodded. It was no secret that both her and Montega had what were now
very advanced telepathic abilities. “Ah. I see. Anything interesting?”
“No.” He whispered. “But that kid is just as smart as Montega. And he knows
what he is. But I told the two of them to learn to communicate a little
quieter next time.”
She nodded. “I have to work on that with her. She’s too loud. Broadcasts her
thoughts for the whole world to hear. And one day, if she’s not careful, that
will get us in some shit.”
“Well,” he whispered back. “we’re gonna have to work with Jr. there too.
He’s louder than she is.”
“I know. I heard everything he said.”
“You did?”
“Yep. Loud and clear.”
“And?”
“I think we have to be prepared.”
“Why?”
“Because whoever it was that caused Jana to send her son, her own flesh
and blood away, must be pretty bad. Because mothers don’t want to let their
children out of their sight at that age. But she did. And Kevin agreed with
her. Which scares me more.” She said honestly.
“How come?”
“Because Kevin doesn’t scare easily. Which means we’re in deep
shit.”

Meanwhile, Max was talking with Marc, while Maria, Isabel, and Alex looked
on.
“When was the last time you heard from Jana?”
“Um, just before her and Kevin disappeared.”Why is he asking me
this?
“Did she say anything to you about what happened?”
Marc eyed his cousin’s best friend carefully. “No she didn’t. Why does all
this suddenly matter again?”
She snorted at his impatience. Just like Liz. Wait, of course that explains
it. He’s a typical Parker. Patience is not a virtue they have the pleasure of
being born with.
“You’re probably not gonna like what I have to tell you. But just listen and
don’t say anything till I’m done all right?”
Marc nodded at Max.
Max opened his mouth to say something when he was rudely
interupted.
Maria sat in complete disbelief. It still didn’t seem real. “Son?” Maria
screeched interrupting what Max was trying to tell Marc. “How the hell is
that possible?”
Marc sighed. “Jana and I were together before her and Kevin disappeared. A
few times actually. But that’s not important. My son is.” He finished as he
glanced at the couch where Marc Jr. was sitting next to Montega.
Micheal from across the room, turned to Maria. “See what I said Ria? Now
he definitely needs to know. There’s just no way around it anymore.
Right?”
She simply nodded. Spaceboy’s right. Marc needs to know that his son is
half Spaceboy.
“Know what?” Marc interupted.
“Um. Uh. Well, that’s what Max was trying to tell you before Maria
interupted. See there’s this thing you need to know.” Liz stammered.
Marc looked at his cousin quizzically. Why do I get the distinct feeling
that I’m not going to like this. “What thing Lizzie?”
“Well see Kevin and Jana are different.”
He quirked an eyebrow up at her in confusion. “Different in what respect?”
“They’re not from around here.” She said placidly and pointed her finger
upwards.
Max cracked a small smile, remembering Liz’s reaction to that very same
statement. It was...
“As in Canada?” Marc asked honestly.
Maria was trying hard not to bust out laughing. I know this is serious. But
that’s just too damn funny. Spaceboy’s Canadian now!?! Is that what they’re
calling it these days?
“No. Just a tad more up north.” She said as she calmly pointed
upwards.
Okay not getting any good vibes from this situation, at all. “How so?
They were adopted in Austin, Texas when they were 3 years old. And they’ve
lived there since then. Unless you found out something about their parents.
Did you?”
“Yeah, Marc. We, uh, kinda did.” Yeah, Marc. Your ex is not of this earth.
How bout them apples. Now it was Maria that was stuttering.
“Well?”
The group was dead silent.
“Is someone going to tell me what’s going on?” He asked, growing slightly
agitated as he searched for answers in the group of teenagers that stood
before him.
Montega, having heard enough, and knowing more than Marc Sr. did; stood up
and spoke up. “Marc’s Mama is a little bit like my Mama.” She declared
confidently despite the look on her older cousin’s face. “She’s also like Aunty
Izzybel, Uncle Micheal, and Max.” She added with a smile on her face as she
glanced at all the adults in the room. She received a huge grin from Max.
“And Kevin.” She added angrily.
I guess she somehow knows about Kevin. “What do you mean Monty?”
But she’s still no making sense.
“Well Marc’s Mama can probably do this.” She said as she concentrated on
her cup that sitting on the coffee table. It slowly rose from the table, much
to Marc Jr.’s amazement, and Marc Sr.’s dismay.
“Monty, what are you doing?”
“She’s using her powers, Marc.” Liz said with a slight smile. Let’s hope that
he doesn’t react the way Alex or Maria did. “I have some too.” And with
that she waved her hand over her eyes, making her eye shadow change from
the pale brown she was wearing to a light shade of blue.
“I think I need to sit down.” Marc stammered as he stumbled towards the
couch and his son.
****
“So let me get this straight.” Marc said as he surveyed the occupants of the
room. “You three,” he gestured to Max, Micheal, and Isabel respectively “are
aliens from another planet.” They nodded in confirmation. “And you two,” he
said while pointing to Liz and Montega “are the ‘Chosen Ones’.” They also
nodded. “And she,” he nodded his head to indicate that he was speaking of
Montega “is half-alien. Which means that her father, my son’s mother’s twin,
is alien. Which also makes my son’s mother an alien.”
Max, Micheal, Isabel, Liz, Alex, Maria, Montega and little Marc all
nodded.
But Montega couldn’t help but say “We prefer the term Czechoslovakian.” To
which Liz and Maria cracked up.
Marc shook his head while biting his bottom lip nervously. “I see. I’ve
entered the Twilight Zone.”
“No you haven’t.” His son retorted shyly.
Marc merely smiled in response. This was gonna take some getting used to.
My son is an alien. Wow never thought I’d be able to say something like
that.
“Well now you can. Just not too loud.” Liz responded.
Marc turned a whiter shade of pale than he already was.
“Oh boy. This is gonna be fun.” Alex remarked.
