Maria DeLuca was on fire. Her body was humming, her soul shaking. She
felt like she could fly away.
She was in the school gym at three thirty in the morning, and she was
dancing, hard and fast. It felt good.
She hadn't done this since she found out about the aliens. She had almost
forgotten that her gym teacher had given her a key after walking in on her
one morning during her study hall in the ninth grade.
Then, tonight, she had been tossing and turning and suddenly she just
knew she had to dance. And here she was.
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise

I feel the magic between you and I
It was an oldies song, sure, but it was fun to dance to. And she could
imagine that someone was singing the words to her, felt that way about her.
She didn't think about anything, really, she just fell into the song. The
music was flowing through her veins, the lyrics echoing in her heart...
"Maria?"
She froze, and turned, slowly, eyes wide with disbelief.
Max Evans was standing their, staring at her with shock written all over
his face.
