REMEMBER:

ELLIPSE= Both numbers positive, different number in front, 2 squared terms.

CIRCLE= Same numbers squared, both positive.

HYPERBOLA= 1 negative number, 2 squared numbers.

PARABOLA= 1 squared number

EXAMPLE PROBLEMS:

*X² + 2Y² + 16Y + 32 = 0   (ELLIPSE)

* 9Y² = 25X² + 400X + 1825    (HYPERBOLA)

* X² +Y ²= 10X + 2Y +23  (CIRCLE)

*(X+3)² = 8(Y+2)   (PARABOLA)
