You are in a field shooting rockets into the air . When you shoot the rocket off its angle has a degree of 45o. Find the values for X & Y and then find the inverse.
Step 1: Look at the unit circle and find the values of X & Y at 45o.
The value for X is sq.rt. 2/2
The value for Y is sq.rt. 2/2
To find the inverse of the function you switch the X & the Y.
In this case the equation is Y = cos5X
X = cos5Y
X/5 = cos Y
Y = cos-1X/5
That's the inverse of the equation.
