Section 5-5 Roots of Real Numbers
Jack was asked, by his math teacher, to find the square root of 180. While trying to find his notes on how to do it, Jack asked Jill if she could help him solve the problem. Can you help Jack solve the problem.
To solving the problem: Punch the square of 180 into your calculator. If you did that you will see that 180 does not have an even square root. So now you will have to break it down.
Problem: Find the square root of 180. The square root of 180 roughly 13.4, but you cannot do that so you will have to break it down.
Step 1: Find what can go into 180
Step 2: After you have found what can go into 180, 12 & 15, you need to break that down to simple numbers. If you do that right those number should: for 12, 3*2*2 and for 15, 3*5.
Step 3:Last, would be to see what numbers can be grouped together, multiply those two number together, and put whatever you have left inside the square root.
So the answer would be 6 square root of 5

This quote means that if you say something, you should try your hardest to do what you say and make sure it is done right.
