On the Other Side of the Looking Glass

She pushes the puzzle to the back of her mind,
She closes her eyes and tries to unwind.
Go to sleep, Go to sleep
And she knows this wont work.
So she reaches for death,
And pulls up the sleeve of her shirt.
In 15 seconds it will be all right,
And maybe shell sleep for the rest of the night.
As her mind drifts away to another place,

Standing in the doorway
Tears run down her best friends face.
She whispers goodnight, Im sorry, I was too late again
You promised youd stop, but you lied again
Life was so easy when we were young, You filled me with joy, and the days were so fun
We laughed and loved with the vitality of youth, When I looked in your eyes then, I saw truth.

Then problems got harder, and hearts started breaking
My head started spinning, At the chances you were taking
Oh goodnight Babygirl, theres no need to bring up the past
Youre so far gone
On the other side of the looking glass
