Lyrics by Damien rice

We might kiss when we are alone/ When nobody's watching/ I might take you home/ We might make out when nobody's there/ It's not that we're scared/ It's just that it's delicate/

The sunlight came in slowly through the window, falling softly onto her face. It caressed her into sleepy wakefulness and she lifted up a hand to rub her eyes, sighing gently. It was then she felt the fingertips that lightly grazed her hip. A warm heat spread itself over her side as his full form turned in towards her. Her breath caught in her throat, remembering where she was and who lay so close. Signs of him were everywhere. His pillows, his bed, his house. Beside her on the dresser, lay the glasses she had previously assumed he never took off.

She could feel the weight of him on her shoulder, his mouth against her skin made her heart flutter. Suddenly all too conscious of her nakedness, the contact seemed unbearable. For the briefest of seconds she felt his arm move, grazing her breast. His caress stirred up emotions she had long kept hidden. Memories of the night before, came to her in parts. The ragged breathing, hot on her neck. His legs brushing her own, and the fullness of her mouth over his.

It was not as if she hadn’t dreamed of this a thousand times. But afterwards there had always been a sense of satisfaction. Fulfilment. She had convinced herself that a single encounter, would be enough. Now all she felt was longing, stronger and more urgent than it had been before. She had never wanted to be vunerable, but to his touch she had betrayed herself.

Achingly torn, she lowered her lips down towards him and sweetly covered the side of his mouth with butterfly kisses. From the depths of his dreaming he murmured with contentment, running his hand gently over her soft brown hair. She lingered hesitantly above his face, as his eyes slowly parted. The fullness of her presence registered in his drowsy mind and his breath began to quicken. Unexpectedly aware that nothing lay between them, his body tensed beneath her.

A heavy silence laced the air around them. The blueness of his gaze, was loaded with questions. Then remembrance enclosed him and a tiny smile gently made its way across his mouth.

‘Hi’, Grissom said, so quietly she barely heard.

‘Hi’, Sara replied, kissing him so delicately he forgot to breathe.
