HISTORY OF BSF

PART 1

Humbled High-school Hilarity

In early 1994, when the West Coast Eagles were a mighty force in the AFL and Brisbane were winless on the bottom of the ladder, Kane Raven was gifted his first opportunity to appear on radio.  As a fresh faced 11 year old, he was given the task of appearing on Voices of Eltham College, the schools radio program, and reporting positively on a van containing a giraffe that told kids not to smoke or do drugs, not the easiest of tasks, but Kane grasped the opportunity, impressing the program coordinators enough to allow him to join as a permanent fixture in 1995.  By 1998 the fascist dictatorship ruling over the Eltham College radio program had fallen and it was left to "The Kids" to rule.  Kane Raven rose up as the humble leader of the show, and it soon transformed from a run of the mill educational program to an hour of mischievous mayhem.

PART 2

Rowdy Radio Revolution

Kane Raven put together a team of presenters, which included current BSF Members JB, Fyfe and Boofa, to give the show a less "nerdy" feel. It became a show of teenage topical conversation, a feast of alternative comedy and saw the birth of the popular segment "Quarter to Fyfe" 1998 and 1999 saw the emergence of the trio as a well defined radio outfit, so it was unfortunate when in early 2000 the school pulled the funding and the show collapsed... The radio dream slowly faded as Kane, JB, and Fyfe began to work on a sketch show called 'Its a Goldfish'.  Sadly, production of It's a Goldfish lasted only a matter of months and the crew parted ways at the end of 2000.  2001-mid 2002 saw no media activity from Kane Raven and friends, until Kane took up a spot on La Trobe Universities Radio Station SubFM

PART 3

Charismatic Comedic Comeback

Kane teamed up with old friends Jaydos and Morgan Watkins to throw together a scrappy metal show on Sub FM late in 2002, whilst it was good for the guys to get back on radio, it soon became obvious that there was something lacking.  That was, a sense of humour.  In early 2003.  Morgan was dumped from the team and JB, Fyfe and Boofa were brought in.  The old team were back together again and But Seriously Folks was born.  They became one of the most popular shows on SubFM with there comedy styling and vast wit.  They were then joined by the Mysterious 'O' from sister program ignition, and after putting an ad in the local press looking for a female presenter, they picked up Miss Brodie.  The team settled down and began working towards a show on Syn FM.
