Theatre is life.

fireflies dancing in the
deep lonely darkness of
the empty starless night
glittering with the yellow
tinge of forlorn streetlamps
taking the place of twinkling
golden dreams overhead
whiling away their
vagabond existence
each passing by my dusty
cobwebbed window of forgotten
memories to make their finale
of long-sought greetings and
goodbyes before the curtains
fall to cut their magical
being from the audience
the rain beat down on
the leaking roof in
encores of approval
come back, come back i say
to the actors of dimensions
that i can never reach
somehow i missed the lull
of their swift routines
to hypnotise me away from the
withered roses of life
but the curtains had
dropped
and torn
as the theatre lights brightened into false sunshine
