Lucky_allisonanne needs our help. Her daughter Danielle is suffering a disease called Mafan Syndrome. Danielle's spine was curved from this disease and had an operation to straighten it. The rods that were placed inside her back are now bent and she needs another operation. A second operation is very risky for her daughter, who is 13 and has 2 leaky valves and an enlarged aorta.

UPDATE: I received a IM from Allison this morning while I was waiting for her approval on this page.

Sassy, hello and thank you so much for making that page for me and my daughter. It is beautiful. The bunny site you girls have done is awesome also. I have some good news about Danielle. The night before we were to see the Doc I prayed and prayed for Dani. I decided to not take the xrays I had gotten here to the Doc and make them take new films. I was hoping something would be different and it would not be as bad as the last film.............well when we got the new film..... her spine had curved more but her rods weren't bent any more her screws were not coming out.... the Doc said that my hospital here must have taken bad films and that there is no need right now for surgery..... I know it was the prayers from all of u that did it ... it was an act of god...THANK YOU!!!!
I will continue to keep u all up dated on her condition. She also has dislocated lenses of the eyes and her heart Doc appt is coming soon. ty again for all your hard work and also letting ppl know about Marfan Syndrome
Sincerly allisonanne

The Marfan syndrome is a heritable disorder of the connective tissue that affects many organ systems, including the skeleton, lungs, eyes, heart and blood vessels. The condition affects both men and women of any race or ethnic group. It is estimated that at least 200,000 people in the United States have the Marfan syndrome or a related connective tissue disorder.

Skeletal manifestations common in people with the Marfan syndrome include curvature of the spine (scoliosis), abnormally shaped chest (pectus deformity), loose jointedness and disproportionate growth usually, but not always, resulting in tall stature.
