Sitting
by the water's edge
Watching waves break on the shore
I see the sun's first signs of light
Turning the sea from blue to gold

The crying of gulls on the air

The innocence of life at home

As death comes calling once again

eyes now open and all I see

And say to God please take me home

It's
evening now
The sun just setting
The desert dipped
In red and gold

take a walk along the sidewalk
Listening to the crickets hum
I stop and smell a desert flower
Just then I hear you come

look up now and see your face
