Launch of the Club's History
The club will launch its book on the history of the Bulleen Templestowe Cricket Club on 27th February 2005. The book consists of approximately 250 pages and has been printed on fine quality paper. There are many colour photos throughout the book, including premiership teams and some after the game photos.
The book is for sale for the amount of Aus$48.00 and you can request a copy by e-mailing the club at [email protected]
Pre Finals Wrap
Under new coach, Dean Humphrey, the 1st XI are well clear on top of the A1 ladder. The team has performed consistently all season and deserve to be favourites for the flag. The 2nd XI are also on top of their ladder and the club is hoping that the 1st & 2nd XI's can achieve a premiership double. After winning the premiership in 2003/04, the 3rd XI has found the going tough in the higher grade and are out of contention for the finals. The 4th XI were on top of their ladder, however due to many players being unavailable due toprivate school commitments, have dropped out of the top four. A win in the final game may see them sneak back in to play off in the finals again.
"Boydy" wins B2 Grade Bowling Averages
Congratulations to Scott Boyd for winning the 2003/04 BHRDCA bowling averages in B2 Grade. Boydy carried his fine form into the finals and took 4 wickets in both the semi and grand finals.
Team of the Century
From all accounts, the Team of the Century function held in February 2002 was one of the greatest days in the club's history. Many thanks to those that attended the function and contributed in making this one of the club's greatest days. For those that missed the function, the Team of the Century is pictured below as follows:
(Back Row L to R): Dean Weedman, David Young, Tom Matthews, Tony Stagg, Grant Taylor (representing Allan Taylor), DarrenMcDonald.
(Front Row L to R): Colin Kelly, WarrenMiller, Brian Kelly, Ian Simpson (Captain), Robert Chaplin (Vice Captain), Harry Young, Steven Young.

Special Mention
A special mention to former club member, Scott Tyson, who was married in August 2002. You can still follow the club he has represented since he has been living in the UK. (Old Albanian Cricket Club). Their web site is as follows: www.oldalbanian.cricketclub.org.uk
Scott reports that Old Albanian has recently completed construction of their new ground at a cost of 3 million (approx $8.3 million). They also recently hosted a game between a pub team known as Lashing CC and the Lords Taverners. The Lashing CC team consisted of a few handy cricketers including Brian Lara, Shoab Akhtar, Jimmy Adams and Junior Murray. Check out the Old Albanian web site to few this outstanding new ground.
Scott has already etched his name in their 70 year history by scoring the 2nd highest individual score for Old Albanians - 201 not out. In another string to his bow, Scott was one wicket short of winning the competition bowling averages - a huge performance given that he only played 7 out of a possible 15 games.
Other cricketers from Bulleen Templestowe to have played in the U.K include Darren McDonald, Tim Arnold, Peter Wolnizer, Michael Turner and James Barry.
Recently heard via e-mail from one of the club's
former players in Michael Turner. Michael represented the club during the mid
1970's, however he returned to the UK with his parents in 1979. He has
continued his passion for cricket with Corinthians CC, Slazengers CC, and
Birstall CC for the last 18 years. Birstall CC are in the Premiers Division of
the Central Yorkshire League.
