This award was introduced in 1978/79 for the Under 16 team. From 1994/95, the award was renamed the Maurie O'Dal Junior Club Champion Award to recognise the contribution made to junior cricket by Maurie O'Dal. Points are awarded for runs scored, assisted wickets, unassisted wickets, catches, stumpings and run outs.
