| Hey I thought this was a beer tour?? Day two saw us doing a ..... tour of a small estate winery. Nice drive along the Rhine. Cross the river by ferry. Found a small estate winery, that while official close for the season, the owner let us in. Down stairs in the tasting room surrounded on all sides from floor to ceiling by wine bottles two deep, the owner toured us through some of his wines. Try this vintage, and this one, how about a late harvest, try this brandy...... Then for a lunch of meats cheeses and excellent bread ummm. Off to the winery store for purchasing of lots of excellent german wine. He did ok on us canadian tourist I think. Back at Klaus's for another fine meal by Astrid. More bottled pils Alts, wheat and Octoberfest beers. Photo op of Stromberg castle lit by flood lights, can't get camera to work, but a nice stroll anyways. Poluto slept downstairs on a foamy, surronded by thick concrete and earth, and sealed in by a solid wood door at the top of the stairs, but his high decibel snoring penetrated all that..... More raiding of the fridge of the Goat cheese. |
