About myself:
In Professional World
December 26, 2005: I am a 23 year old guy working in an MNC called IMS Health as a Statistical Programmer (now for more than 5 months..), in the area of Sales Force Effectiveness actively involving myself in design and development of a new application called "Sales Force Efectiveness Precision Suite"

I will be graduating with my Masters in IE from the Department of Industrial Engineering, University at Buffalo (for some, still the good old State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo). with specific concentration in the fields of Operations Research and Statistics with a good mix of Supply Chain in December 2005. I also have a Bachelors in Mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS)-Pilani, ,the degree of which I obtained was in August 2004. During the journey of both my Masters and Bachelors Course and Project work, I have also worked in reputed firms like Delphi, Lucas-TVS and Gulf oil Corporation (formerly called IDL Industries) doing various projects like:

1) Optimal Scheduling of Operations in the Production Lines through application of Linear Program using a Mixed Integer Programming approach.
2) Application of the solution to the knapsack problem in the paper industry.
3) Data mining of the medical drug datasets using Regression Analysis.
4) Design and Development of the backend of the T-mobile website using the ER diagrams and WebML units.
5) E-manufacturing and SAP: Creating Responsive shopfloor.
6) Design and development of the logistic network in solving a case for a Toy company called Hasbro Inc.
7) A Markov Decision Problem based approach to the airline YM problem.

The Personal Profile

As written on top, I go with various names among the different friend circles I have. Both myself and my brother were born and brought up in Hyderabad itself and for us it will always be the best place on earth. So, as you can imagine, both of us are almost near perfections replicating the attitude of the typical telugu guy and the culture and slang too reveals the same. Though I get from time to time various comments on my Tamil accent, I can dare enough to say that I know it pretty well as it is my mother tongue. Coming to my friends, I primarily have a three way split, the first being my school circle, the second being my undergrad gang and the last lot is of my grad pool. All the three pools have in them, in distinct style covered almost all the vibrant qualities and emotions mankind has ever.
An Introduction to My Immediate Family:
Amma is how I address my mother. Her name is Usha Rani, and I find it extremely hard to tie down her interests to any one given field. A broad outline would be devotional duties, Purchase and Material fundas (for now ruling almost 30 years in the M&P department@ IDL!!), raising gems like us (:-P), and social issues. Amma has done a wonderful job of sensitising both Anna and I to her interests and our cultural roots. I wonder if we can ever thank her enough for providing all the ingredients to supplement our innate technical outlook, and help us become more than just engineers.

Appa is how I address my father. His name is Raghavan, and he is the Assistant Head of the Commercial department (again a 30 years experience to boost!!), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC). Appa shares all of Amma's enthusiasm for devotional duties, maintaining culture and other relevant areas. He has been a very great influence on both Anna and me, in that he has taught us to think, philosophise and intellectualise for ourselves, independent of tradition or anything else that one may be given as unquestionable. And it is due largely to him that we developed an interest in Science (especialy, Maths for me) too.

Srinivasan. is my elder brother, and like a good Telugu speaking person (being born and brought up in Hyderabad!),I address him as Anna. Anna has undoubtedly been the greatest influence in my life, and as it turns out, we have done many of the same things in remarkably identical ways. I cannot ever dream of summarising what he has meant to me in so laughably small a paragraph. But just to give a glimpse, he is currently working as a Applications Specialist at Sabre Airline Solutions (almost 3.5 years) after finishing both his Masters and Bachelors in Computer Science. His insights into various facets of life be it the enthu with which he solves the puzzles or the continual feedback he gives me on his latest adventure of Stocks and Options leave me awestuck and let me startled if I can ever replicate his achievements.
