BURKART-MUELLER - My greatgrandfather, Alexander Burkart, was born in Bühlertal in 1844. He married Maria geb. Seifried and they had 9 children, Josef, Maria, Otto, Schwester, Alex, Franz, Rosa, Mathilde and Hubert. Alex was my grandfather. He was born in Bühlertal in 1877. He and other family members moved to this country (year unknown) and settled in Plymouth, Wisconsin. He married Magdalena Mueller who was also born in Bülhertal. They also had 9 children, the oldest being my father, Roman J. Burkart, who was born in 1904 and died in 1991.
Their youngest child, James, died in Plymouth in 1997. My father married Mildred Swift and they had 2 children, my brother R. John and myself. I was born in 1930 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. My mother died in Atlanta, Georgia in 1966. Alex died in 1959 and Magdalena died in 1945. I had a cousin named Ingrid Roth, somehow related to the Mueller family, who lived in Bühl but died about 8 years ago. Her husband in named Gunther and he may still be living.
