In the name of God amen! I Jacob Minter of Fauquier County be in perfect sense and memory, doth call to mind that it is ordained for all in once to die. I ordain this last Will and Testament.
Item; I leave my wife the bed my father gave me, and it is my desire my wife would have the use of my Negro boy Adam and a Negro man named Lewis, only my son is to have shelter and maintenance in reasonable good manner as shall be thought proper by my executors, till he comes of age. Then to have the above Negro boy named Adam.
I appoint Wm. Settle and Hannah Minter my executors as witness my hand and seal. This 21st. day of November 1772:

At a court held for Fauquier County, the 21st. day of April 1773: This Will was proved by the oath of Andrew Anderson, Edward Settle, and John Edwards. Witness thereunto and order to be recorded and motion of William Settle and Hannah Minter the executors therein named who made oath and executed and acknowledged bond as the law directs certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in dew form.
