Part 30:

"I think that's my cue to leave. I'll go check on the kid." Lorne said and quickly left the two vampires alone.

Spike sauntered closer to Angel. There were a few minutes of silence before Spike spoke. "So what do you want to tell me?"

"Sit, Will." Angel said motioning to the seat next to him.

//This can't be good.// Spike thought.

"Is this about my Xan-pet?" Spike said, slowly moving to his Sire.

"Kind of." Angel said.

Spike's eyes widened with fear. "He's alright isn't he?" I mean he didn't get hurt again. We should get him to the doc's." Spike started to babble.

Angel shook his head in amusement. "He's fine, Spike. I need to tell you something about Xander."

"Well out with it." Spike said.

"He's my son." Angel said quickly.

Spike snorted. "Yeah right. Pull the other one mate."

"I'm not joking." Angel said.

Spike looked at Angel's face. //Cor, he's serious.// "How? Your brat's only a few months old. Not even a proper mouth full. Unless this isn't your first."

"No, Spike. He's Conner and no, I didn't have another kid. Xander's the only one."

"Xander's not your son!!! What is this, another way to get me and my mate apart? It's not gonna happen."

"Will, I don't want you and Xander to break up. I want you to stay together. I'm telling you the truth."

"No bloody way!!! My Xanpet isn't your and that whore of a Sire of yours child. Xander's pure and beautiful. He's not like you!"

Angel's nostrils flared. "He's is my child. Ask Lorne or Wesley. They'll tell you."

"They'll lie just like you are. No, me and my mate are leaving now." Spike said trying to catch Xander's scent so he could get them both out of the mansion. He started towards the stairs when he was grabbed from behind and thrown across the room. Before Spike could fight back he heard a shout from the top of the stairs. "STOP!!!"

Xander woke to the terrible emptiness of the bed. He hated waking up to an empty. He opened his eyes just in time to see Lorne come in.

"Hey, kid. How ya feeling?" Lorne asked, gingerly sitting on the bed.

"Better. I think I'm almost back to normal. Is Spike back yet?" He asked eagerly.

Actually he just came in. He and." Lorne said but was interrupted.

"Thanks Lorne." Xander said as he got out of bed and went out the door wanting to be with his vampire.

As soon as he got out of the door, he heard a shouting match from downstairs.

"Xander's not your son!!!" he heard Spike yell.

He crept over to the staircase to hear exactly what was going on. The more he heard the more unbelievable it seemed. He started down the stairs as Spike declared that they were leaving. He then saw Angel grab his lover and throw him across the room. Xander saw Spike get ready to fight.

"STOP!!!" Xander yelled. Both vampires turned to Xander. "Don't fight." He said softly.

Spike rushed to his side. "Come on pet. We're getting out of here."

"No, first I want to know why Angel's saying that I'm his son."

"Because he's a manipulate bastard." "Because it's the truth." Angel and Spike said at the same time.

"Look Xander." Angel said glaring at his Childe. "I'm telling the truth. I swear on my soul that it's true."

//Well that's reassuring.// Xander thought. "When did you first know?"

"When I hit you with my car." Angle winced at the growl and the gasp he heard. "It was an accident. You ran in front of the car with that demon following you. As soon as I got a whiff of your scent, I knew you were Conner and Conner was you. Every one has their own scent. I knew. I knew I almost killed my son."

Xander was incomplete shock. Angel ran him over with his car and now he was saying that proves he is his con.

//I'm going to kill the bastard. He almost killed my mate.// Spike thought as he tried to get out of Xander's arms. Xander however tightened his hold on Spike. He needed the vampire close to him.

"Spike, stay." Xander whimpered.

"No, have to kill the poof first."

"Not yet."

"He hurt you and now he's lying to you."

"Actually, he's not." Wesley said from the top of the stairs. Lorne was standing right behind him.

"He's telling the truth?" Xander asked.

"Yes, I preformed a spell to find Conner and it lead me to you."

"It could have been wrong." Xander said.

"True but highly unlikely." Wesley said. "You are his son."

"No. I'm a Harris. I was born here. I'm not the some of some good from nothing vampire!!"

"Xander," said Angel as he stepped towards the couple.

"NO!!" Xander wretched himself from Spike and darted up the stairs. "Don't come near me, Deadboy." Xander then disappeared down the hallway.

Lorne watched as Xander made his mad dash. "I'll go look after Conner.er Xander. You kids play nice." He then whispered to Wesley. "If they don't, feel free to send them to their corners."

Lorne followed Xander into the corner room. He saw the younger man sitting heavily in a chair looking completely lost.

"I always thought that my family hated me. I knew somehow that I wasn't one of them I always used to think that my real family would come and rescue me." Xander said then turned to Lorne, tears running down his face. "But did it have to be Deadboy?"

Lorne walked to Xander and wrapped himself around the weeping boy. "He isn't that bad. He really loves you. He used to stay up all night and day just watching you sleep. I remember the first few weeks he didn't even let us touch you much less hold you. He thought the world of you. You're the most important thing in the world to him."

Xander snorted. "Great. Now he knows I'm a failure and he hates me."

"Hey now, you're not a failure. You help fight the creepy crawlies of the world making it a better place for everyone, just like your dad. Look I know there's some history between you two but give him a chance. He might surprise you."

Xander straightened up and pulled away from Lorne. "Maybe I will but can I just have a few minutes alone?"

"Sure, sweet pea. I'm needed to check on our guys anyway. They're being way too quite." Lorne moved towards the door.

"Hey, Lorne. He likes you too by the way. Maybe you should give him a chance too."

Lorne smiled. "Maybe I will, sweetie pie. Maybe I will."

"And Lorne." Xander said hesitantly.

Lorne turned back to Xander. "Yeah?"

"Thanks." Xander smiled slightly.

Lorne grinned widely. "What's an uncle for?" Lorne said das he walked out and closed the door.

//He's nice. Maybe he can fix whatever is wrong with Angel.er Dad., if he's telling the truth. Wait, if Angel's my dad, then Darla's my mom. My GOD that bitch is my mom. I think I'm going to hurl. The only thing is why would Angel lie? I' the last person anyone would want as a son.//

"Aww, dear heart. You know that's not true."

"Amma*?" Xander said as he turned towards that voice.

"Yes, little one." She said as Xander rushed into her arms.

"Amma, Angel says he's my dad and he hates Spike and Darla's my mom and Spike loves me and." Xander tried to get all of his worried out of his system to the one person he knew would always protect him.

"Shh, dear heart." She said slightly amused. "Let's sit down and see what we can do."

She gently lead Xander to the chair he had been sitting in. "This room is a mess. I will have to talk to Angelus about how to keep a proper house." She then materialized a chair for herself.

Xander looked into his Amma's eyes. "Is it true? Am I really his son?" She ran a hand lightly through his hair. "Yes, it is."

Xander wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her body. "Why Amma? What did I do to deserve this?"

"Now hush. You and I both know life doesn't work like that and it so happens that you are a very special child. Someone who will change things in this world." She said as she continued to pet him.

"But I don't feel strong or special." Xander said.

The woman backed up a little. "Let me fix that." She lightly brushed her lips onto his forehead.

Xander felt a strong burning from the point where she had kissed him and soon that flame seemed to travel down his body. In its wake, he seemed to feel his body form to life. He could sense things he had never dreamed of and felt for the first time in his life at home in his own skin. "Amma?" He questioned.

"Wait, my little one. I'll soon tell you everything but let me tell it once to you and your kin." She said as she gentle pulled him up.

Xander let the slight woman led him out of the room and down the stair. Xander was surprised to see everyone was still in one piece. Spike was standing across the room from Angel and seemed to be trying to glare two holes into the older vampire head. Angel was sitting in a large chair looking defeated and miserable. Between the pair sat Wesley and Lorne on the couch. Both seemed to be well armed, which was probably the reason the two vampires weren't going at each other.

"Hey, guys." Xander said quietly.

Spike's gaze shot to his mate and he started growling at the woman in black clothing next to him. "Who's she?"

Xander sighed and held a hand up towards Spike signaling the vampire to come closer.

Spike glanced at the Goth looking lady and quickly moved to his mate then placed a possessive kiss on Xander's lips. "Mine."

Xander sighed. "Yes, blondie. Yours." He turned to his Amma. "Amma, this possessive pain in the ass is Spike aka William the Bloody. Spike," he turned to his lover, "this is my Amma."

The lady smiled. "Actually I am usually called Daivi but as you are my little one's mate, you may call me Amma if you so wish. Now come we have much to talk of." The woman walked to the couch and sat down directly in front of Angel. "Angelus, I'm quite amazed at the run down nature of you home especial now that you have a child to consider."

Xander pulled Spike down with him as he sat next to his Amma. "It's Deadboy. Don't expect more then you see." Xander sneered.

"Alexander." Amma snapped. "He's your father. Apologize."

Xander hung his head a little. "Sorry."

"It's all right." Angle said.

The woman smiled. "Always such a polite boy." She carressed Xander's cheek then turned to the others in the room. "Mr. Windham Pryce, Lorne please join us." She waved her hand to the end of the couch and moved the couch Lorne and Wesley were sitting on closer to the rest of the group.

"Angel, I just had a vision." Cordy said as she came down the stairs with Groo then stopped. "I saw you. I saw her." Cordy said.

"Yes, Miss Chase. Please sit. We were awaiting you two." The mysterious woman said as she gestured to two more chairs seemed to appear from nowhere.

Cordy looked very suspiciously at the stranger and then to Angel.

The woman smiled. "If I had wished to harm you, I could have done so by now."

Cordy nodded slightly and sat down with Groo next to her."

"Now I know there are many questions you wish to ask. Allow me a few minutes to speak first. I am as I have said called Daivi. It was given to me a long time ago and as Mr. Windham Pryce will tell you it means goddess and is a high sign of respect. Even your Powers That Be address me with such respect. I have lived longer then you can imagine and I have seen things that would make even your hell, Angelus, look heavenly. I have seen and caused the destruction and evolutions of many societies. As of late though, I have grown quite fond of this dimension and especially this planet. I have guarded form many invasions to protect my children."

"Children?" Wesley questioned.

Daivi smiled almost shyly. I am what you may call "the mother of monsters." My children range from elves and gnomes to vampires and werewolves. I also am the mother of special children such as our dear Alexander." She squeezed Xander's hand.

"But Darla and I are his parents." Angel said seeing Xander slipping away from him again.

Daivi smiled. "I do not mean to break your ties with him Angelus. A blessing such as our dear heart does not just occur."

"But how did I get to the Harris household?" Xander asked.

"My little one," Mistress said, "when you were a babe, you were taken from your father and put into the hands of Sza'john."

"He's that demon that said I was his arch-enemy." Angel said. "Why is he after Conner?"

"Alexander's fate is to be a very powerful being because of the power I was to give to him when he turned of age. Alexander will be one of the most powerful beings in the world. He would be my champion. Even hear that such a thing could occur caused great jealousy in Sza'john who wished to be my second in command. Yet I saw the darkness in him long before Alexander was ever forewarn of. He would never be my second. I took away his corporal form from him before he discovered the prophecy. But he soon learned what the Fates had decided. To make Alexander suffer for being born, he was planning to let his minion raise him and later use Alexander to make himself more powerful being, second to none."

"But why go after Angel and send Holtz?" Wesley asked.

"The minion lives only for revenge. A babe in his care would soon follow the idea that violence and vengeance are the only way to deal with hardships. No matter how bright the soul, it would have become tainted by the darkness. The minion would turn Alexander from any love that he could ever receive from Angelus or his kin. His only thoughts would be of darkness and pain, of hate and revenge." Daivi said.

"Why the bloody Harris's then? They're just as bad." Spike said.

"Ah yes. Though the Harrises are one of the lowest forms of human, they did serve their purpose." Daivi said calmly.

"And that would be?" Spike sneered.

"Taking Alexander from the demon community. No one would look for a powerful being living in the house of an abusive father constantly causing him harm. Later it gave him to be in the perfect position to be shielded by the slayer until his time came. Also since he was so close to the Hellmouth, I could take care of him." Daivi said.

"That's why you were always there when he became really bad. You always pushed him away and shielded me from him. You always listen to me when I cried. You always held me when he hurt me." Xander said.

Mistress turned to Xander. "Yes, dear heart. That is why I was with you. I could not watch the monster hurt you even though it was necessary. I am deeply sorry that I even had to leave you there. I wish I could have taken every pain you ever felt at his hand away. I never wanted you to feel pain. I wanted you to be safe."

Xander looked into the dark endless eyes of his Amma. He saw the pain in the immortal eyes that had been his only comfort in the nights where he felt so alone. //What do I say? I don't know what to feel.//

Daivi reached out and cupped Xander's face. "My little one, no one can understand how it hurt me to keep you there but it was the only way. It was out of my hands. Please my dark heart, forgive me."

Xander saw the truth in her eyes. He remembered the nights where she was the only one who cared enough to talk to him, comfort him. Yes, it did hurt that she was a part of the reason he was there in the first place but he didn't as betrayed as he thought he should. She was just trying to help him in the only way she could. She picked that lesser of two evils, his life or his death. And when he looked at her eyes he could see the uncertainly and the fear of rejection in her eyes. It was scary and comforting at the same time.

"Amma." He said and reached for her.

The elder woman held him close to her. They looked as if they were mother and child who had been separated for year on end. "My little dark heart."

Spike didn't like how close they were and was about to say something when Cordy spoke up. "What is this about Xander being all powerful."

Daivi spoke softly as she ran a hand through Xander's hair not letting the man move from her grasp. "Yes, once my little one learns how to control his powers, but until then he will just be a little stronger then he once was though he will be giving off waves of power."

"Is that why I'm a demon magnet?" Xander asked, looking up at his Amma.

Spike snorted. "No, it's because you are one of the slayer's mates and because you radiate innocence."

Amma turned to Xander and nodded. "He's right. But I fear it could have been worse if anyone knew who you were. There has been a price on your head for centuries now."

Xander frowned. "So people have wanted me dead before I was even born?"

Daivi pulled away from Xander and looked at him. "Yes, my heart, but remember many more were waiting for you with open arms."

"But how does Deadboy fit into this?" Xander asked.

Daivi smiled. "I knew he would love you and protect you when you needed it."

"But he hates me." Xander said as he leaned onto Spike.

Angel quickly got up and kneeled into front of his son. "I don't hate you, Xander. I've loved you from the moment I first held you in my arms."

Xander looked at his "Father" "But I caused you nothing but problems. I made fun of you, I tried to break you and Buffy up, I helped send you to Hell, and just yesterday, I threatened to kill you."

Angle smiled indulgently as Xander rambled his "faults". "Xander, you know what I see? A man who was willing to stand up for what he believes in, someone who loves others with a passion and is willing to do anything to keep his loved ones safe. Xander you ware smart, funny, loyal, cunning, courageous, and an annoying pain in the ass. How could I now want a son like you?"

Xander smiled weakly as his eyes started to gleam with tears. His father actually did love him.

"Not to be a total git but what about those wackers that are after the poof and Xander?"

Daiva looked far off for a few seconds before she focused on Spike. "They will be here in a few moments."

"Then we have to hide Xander." Angel stated.

Spike nodded his head and tried to grab Xander.

"Hey, I'm not going to run away."

"But he's going to kill you, love." Spike said.

"Not if I get him first." Xander turned to his Amma. "I can stop him, can't I?"

"You are the only one that can, dear heart." Amma lightly brushed her fingers against Xander's cheek.

Before anyone else could argue, the front door crashed in. Everyone except Daivi jumped to their feet as Holtz strolled in.

"Angelus, it looks as if you have more vermin to help your cause."

Cordy looked coolly at the man. "His name is Angel."

Holtz raised an eyebrow at her. "Ladies do not speak when a man is talking."

Cordy snorted and took out a dagger. She flung it at Holtz's head and would have hit him had he not ducked. "You're right; we know that talk is cheap."

Holtz grabbed the dagger, which was imbedded in the doorframe just behind him and glared at Cordelia. In a deep growl, he said, "Get them."

A second later, 2-dozen men streamed into the room. Angel and Groo charged the group as they came in. The others started to get the men who slipped by the large men.

Spike was about to charge in when a gentle hand stopped him. He morphed and turned to see Daivi shaking her head at him. "No, William. They are all human."

Spike growled. "But Xander."

"Will fight better knowing that he doesn't have to worry about you getting hurt." She moved Spike behind her and created a dome around him. "Now watch what our Alexander can do." She said almost wickedly.

At the time, Xander was cornered by two men and was faring quite well when he was knocked over the head by another assailant joining in. He dropped to his knees and shook his head. He then felt a jolt of energy seeped into him as his anger came to the surface. He moved suddenly and punched the first two in the face sending them into two others who were attacking Lorne.

Xander stood shocked for a second before a evil gleam came over him. "Come and get some." He yelled as he ran towards two men who were coming at him with daggers and stakes. He quickly disarmed them the two with a few simple punches and then kicked that larger of the two hard in the stomach. The man went flying across the room but his partner didn't seem discouraged. He moved towards Xander and tried to kick him in the head. Xander neatly caught the foot and pulled it upwards. His attacker winced and Xander kick him behind the knee sending the man to the floor.

Though Xander had taken out a few of the men, the odds were not looking good for the do-gooders. Lorne and Cordy were struggling with the men that had attacked them and Wesley had taken on four yet was holding his own for now. Angel and Groo were even starting to lag, as more men were coming appearing out of nowhere. Just as Spike was about to try his luck against the dome, someone threw a human into the house knocking Holtz onto the floor.

Buffy walked into the house as the fighting paused to see the new combatants. "Looks like you guys could use some help."

Buffy smiled and quickly went over to help Cordy and Lorne. Willow, Gunn, and Giles followed her in and started to take some of Angel and Groo's men.

Xander moved to help Wesley. The fight seemed to be turning around but in a dark corner of the room, Sza'john had arrived and was not pleased with the occurrence. He raised his hand to help Holtz's gang but was immobilized. Daivi walked up to him. "You will not interfere. Your time will come soon."

Spike watched helplessly from the dome as Xander and Angel took on a few of the more rowdy men on. It was almost beautiful the way Angel and Xander worked together. They seemed to feel where the other was but the humans still got some good shots in. Spike winced every time with either was hit.

Holtz watched and saw a weak spot. He waited for a few moments before walking slowly behind Angel. He then took a stake out and stood motion less until Angel was completely concentrating on his opponent. Seeing that his moment had come, he threw the stake at Angel but it never reached its mark.

Welsey had seen Holtz progression across the room and tackled Angel before the stake hit him yet the stake did imbed itself deep with in his shoulder.

Angle looked to see Wesley lying on top of him. Angel glanced to see Holtz standing almost victoriously over him. Angel growled and felt Wesley quickly being taken off of him. He looked to see Cordy gently holding onto Wesley. Angle surged to his feet as he saw a shadow over her head and quickly threw another attacker across the room. He looked over the room and saw most of the assailants were laying on the floor unconscious and bleeding. But there was still one on his feet and he was attacking Lorne. Using his vampire speed, he bolted over to Lorne and grabbed the attacker by the neck and squeezed until the man blacked out. "No one touches my Lorne."

Lorne looked a little surprised. "Your Lorne?"

Angel eyes gleamed gold as he said. "Yes mine," and kissed Lorne.

Holtz saw this as the prefect time to retreat and regroup. He started towards the door when Xander stopped him.

"Where do you think you are going?" Xander asked.

Holtz tried to stab Xander with the dagger Cordy threw at him but he couldn't move.

Xander looked to see Willow with her eyes jet black and hair flying back. He smiled. "Thanks Wills."

Willow smiled back and changed back to normal. "No Biggie."

Xander turned towards his Amma and Sza'john.

Daivi frowned slightly, "You know what you must do?" Xander nodded.

Daivi moved away from Sza'john and said, "Then begin."

At those words, Sza'john leaved forwards. "It will be a pleasure destroying you child."

Xander felt power surging up in him. He focused if at Sza'john and walked the demon flew backwards. "Talk is cheap."

Sza'john got up and pushed his arms together. Slowly a flame sprung out of his hands, he smiled and threw it at Xander.

As the fight was occurring, the rest of the group watched anxiously hoping and praying that Xander would be all right. Angel and Spike tried to jump into protect Xander as he narrowly missed the fireball but was stopped by Daivi. "You can not help him now. Not even I can change what is to be." Angel and Spike opened their months to object but found out no sound came out. "You will get them back shortly." Her attention turned back to the fight.

Xander was lying on the floor. Sza'john had thrown a fireball that exploded at Xander's feet, which had knocked Xander off the ground and breathless. Xander hit the ground with his fist in frustration and felt the earth shake. He then did it again only harder. He smiled when he got the same result and caused everyone stubble. He then stood up and smashed his foot in Sza'john's direction. He watched as the grand stated to quack under the demon's feet.

Sza'john fell onto the floor but chanted softly until ice daggers formed in front of him. He flicked his hand and sent them towards Xander.

Xander put up his hands, motioning the daggers to stop, and watched as the ice started to melt. Xander then grabbed a sword that lay next to his feet and stabbed Sza'john in the chest. "So you do bleed."

"As will you." Sza'john said calling the dagger that was in Holtz's hand. The dagger flew right into Xander's back.

The room was filled with echoes of 'no' but Xander didn't hear any of them. "Good bye." He said simply as he cut off Sza'john's head.

Sza'john's head rolled away from the body and Holtz turned to dust. Xander collapsed onto the floor. They all moved towards him but Spike reached him first. "Love, what did you do?"

Xander just smiled and turned to Daiva. "I did good."

She smiled gently. "Yes, my dear heart. You did wonderfully."

Xander slowly turned to Spike. Red tears were streaming down the vampire's face. "I'll love you, Spike. Always and Forever." The world went black.

Epilouge:

I can't believe it really happened. It's all over. Nothing will ever be the same. Or at least I won't ever be the same. I really thought it would be different. You know live is supposed to be really different afterwards. I guess it's because of Amma.

"Xander, you look wonderful."

Xander turned to Daivi. "You really think so?"

"Yes, my dear heart. William will eat you up." She smiled and walked up to Xander. "How could he not."

She straightened his tie and brushed his lapel.

"Thanks for everything. I mean it." Xander said pulling the women into his arms.

"My silly little one, there is no need to thank me. I just want you to be happy. Just like your father does and your step father."

Xander smiled. "I can't believe how oblivious Dad was. I mean come on. Lorne was practically drooling on him."

"No offence, my darling, He's male. That explains it all." The Guardian pulled away.

Xander placed a hand over his heart. "Hey, I'm hurt."

The woman laughed. "Get ready. I don't think your vampire will be very happy if you are late."

"I think you're right. Let's go." Xander offered Daivi his arm, which she took.

//Yeah, life isn't that different. You just died and are now getting married to your lover for eternity. Literally. Maybe being undead isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.//

Xander couldn't remember that much about his turning. All he could remember was waking in the arms of his lover and having Angel watch him very intently. Other then the need to drink blood, there wasn't really anything different. Ok, maybe it was a little weird getting used to Angel being his Sire but at the same time it was weird getting used to him to think about him as dad too. He remembered his first words after he was turned. It was the same as his last. "I love you, Spike. Always and forever."

Spike was in tears when he woke up and started kissing him like crazy. The best part was for the first time they didn't have to stop for breath. It was really intense. Well, until Angel stopped him and made him drink.

Angel gave him his blood. Not some butcher blood. It tasted divine. And Xander understood finally. Angel did love him. Loved him unconditionally. Forever. He saw it in Angel's blood.

Ever since then Angel and him became closer and closer. They didn't act like father and son with the exception of Xander calling him dad and Angel babying him at times but they had become friends. Really close friends. And Xander knew that he would do anything for Angel now. Just like he knew that Angel would do anything for him.

Xander and Spike had moved to L.A. right after Xander was turned and Angel and Spike's relationship was a little touchy for a while but it had become strong like it was once upon a time. And when Spike finally asked Angel for Xander to be his true mate, all Angel said was "about time."

That's what tonight was all about. Xander wanted a traditional human wedding before the claiming. Spike of course whined about it for a little while but understood that it was important to him lover.

Actual, Xander was more human then he was vampire. He had a soul and he didn't have blood lust. And he knew whom he had to thank for that.

Xander smiled at the women walking with him. She had placed a spell on him when he was very little so that he would stay almost the same as a vampire. She called it a just-in-case spell when Xander asked about it and smiled at him. She had even taken out Spike's chip saying, "no one hurt my family." Xander still didn't know what she meant by the evil grin that she gave him and Spike when she told them about her surprise but Xander was sure that he didn't want to know.

"Here we are." The Guardian stopped. "I'm so happy for you." She hugged Xander. "Now go make a proper man out of the vampire of yours."

Xander smiled and walked up to the entrance of the room. Spike was waiting for him there.

They looked each other over as if they hadn't seen each other for years instead of the few hours that they had been apart. Spike looked his lover up and down smiling at the beautiful figure in front of him.

The vampire turned slightly and smiled at his lover. "You look smashing, Love."

"Not half as you do." Xander said shyly. He never thought that Spike could have looked sexier until this moment. Spike was in a Tux just like he was but it seemed to give him an air of intelligence and dignity that his beloved duster never did. But even more then that was the happiness that seemed to be seeping out of the vampire from every pore. He was glowing and Xander knew that he was the reason why.

"Come on. They're waiting for us, pet."

Xander grabbed Spike's hand and opened the doors.

Spike and Xander had long arguments about who should walk up the ilea. Neither one thought it was fair that he do it since they really didn't feel more or less manly with that other one near them. They just felt happier. They had finally decided that they would both walk together.

When the doors opened, Xander saw his friends watching for them with joy radiating from every one of them. Lorne and Angel were next to each other as were all of the couples Willow and Tara, Giles and Anya, Cordy and Groo, and finally Gunn and Fred. Buffy, Wesley, and Dawn teasingly said that they would come together though Xander had a feeling that Buffy felt more then friendly for the new and improved Wesley. Xander smiled, all of his family was here. Xander could have burst with joy from how loved he felt.

Then he saw Daiva taking her place. She was going to read the rites for them, something that she was ecstatic about doing. Xander really didn't know what to do for the women who had helped him so much. Maybe Spike could help him find something later.

The music started. They decided that traditional music was a little off for the event so a light Irish song was played. Spike said that it was something that Angelus used to hum when he was a fledgling to make him feel save. Xander couldn't find a more fitting song for their wedding then it. Also Xander saw how emotional his father got when he heard their choice for the first time. That was the moment Xander knew that he had picked the right song.

"That's our cue, love." Spike said.

Xander took in an unneeded breath and started to walk with Spike right next to him.

As they walked up the way, each of their friends' eyes was glued on them. He smiled. All of the girls were cry and trying to hide it while all of the guys seemed to be giving them a look of complete pride. Finally they reached the alter. The mistress smiled.

"Dearly beloved we are gathered here to witness the union of these two vampires. To see them join in a love above all others. Their love is eternal, their souls are bound, they are only whole with each other."

"Who gives these two vampires into the loving bond that we celebrate today?"

The room chorused with "I do."

Daivi echoed with "as do I."

"William the Blood, Childe of Angelus. Do you take Alexander as your mate, your lover, you heart?"

"I do." Spike smiled at Xander.

"Alexander Conner Liam, Childe of Angelus. Do you take William as your mate, your lover, your heart?"

"I do."

"Join you hands and repeat after me."

Spike and Xander listen to the demoness and turned to her expectedly.

"Powers of High."
"Powers of High."
"Demons of Below."
"Demons of Below."
"Bless this union."
"Bless this union."
"Until time unknown."
"Until time unknown."
"Let my Heart know its mate."
"Let my Heart know its mate."
"My soul know its home."
"My soul know its home."
"And my love a place to grow."
"And my love a place to grow."

The Guardian smiled. It was time for another one of her surprises. "Now the rings."

She reached out in front of her and made a small portal. She then reached her hand though and pulled out two rings.

"Alright, Alexander first."

Xander was looking at her with his mouth slightly open.

"Alexander, that is not attractive and is also not something you should be doing at your wedding. Now, take the ring and place it on William finger."

Xander shook his head slightly. //So I guess this is the surprise then.// Xander took the smaller ring and placed it on spike's finger. It didn't seem like anything special. It was just right with a light gold band and a blue stone in the middle.

The Guardian now turned to Spike. "Now you William."

Spike took the other ring and placed it on Xander's finger. Nothing happened at first then the demoness pushed the rings together and they started glowing.

"With these rings, you are one. You will feel the other's love, pain, and joys. May the happy times out way the hard ones. You may now kiss the groom."

Spike attacked Xander's mouth.

//God do I love this man.//

//I love you too pet.//

A second later they realized what had happened and turned to the demoness. "You are one." She smiled. "From now until forever."

"From now until forever. I can handle that." Xander smiled.

"Me, too Pet." Spike kissed his mate. "Me too."
