"Cordelia! Whatever happened to the values we instilled in you?" Rebecca Chase yelled at her daughter. The Chases had come to visit their daughter after two years of no contact between the three of them. Cordelia's father stood off to the side just staring at her.

Cordelia felt her anger rise. Her parents had no right to criticize her or whom she loved. So what if she loved a woman. Love was love wasn't it? " Mother, you can't come in here after two years and expect me to follow your every command. I love Fred. She means every thing to me. If you can't deal with that then you can just leave."

Her mother stared at her, then turned around and huffed out of her apartment. Cordelia looked at her father. He smiled at her and walked over to her. " Cordelia, darling, you're my daughter and it doesn't matter to me who you love. I'll try to talk your mother around but I don't think I'll be able to."

Cordelia smiles, gives him a hug and then watches him walk out of her apartment. She turns toward the bedroom where Fred stands smiling at her. Fred pulls her into a hug and whispers, " I love you Cordy and nothing will change that."

Cordelia grins at her and whispers back, " I love you too, Fred."

Fred laughs, takes her hand, leads her out the door and says, " Now that that's over, let's go get some tacos."

Cordelia's laugh rings through the apartment long after Phantom Dennis shuts the door.
