Such a free thing to be so confined
Tied up or is it down?
By others' rules, restrictions, limits.
By people shouting, yelling, screaming
By those who don't know what it is.
Such an indefinable thing to be so defined
Locked in or is it locked up?
By words, dictionaries, lies
By static ideas, stagnant hearts, decaying souls
By those who have never truly felt what it is.
I wonder about love.
How limitless it is.
With nothing to stop it.
It acknowledges no boundaries,
No edges,
no confines.
It soars in all true hearts,
Pure souls,
Good people.
Love lets nothing stand in its way.
Love tears across the lines man has made,
Destroying the darkness with its light
And shattering the lies justifying darkness.
Yes, I wonder about love.
Why do people try so hard to deny it?
To say that one love is right and another wrong?
To use hate in the name of love?
Why do people fear it so?
Can no one see?
Has no one felt?
Does no one know?
Love.
So I wonder.
About its majesty.
Glory.
Joy.
Heat.
For you see, I have felt love.
It's unconditional.
Makes you whole
And you didn't even know you weren't.
It warms the coldest soul.
Revives the deadest heart.
Eases the deepest pain.
Fills all parts of your being
Leaving no room to hate.
In all the world, only love truly matters.
Not who you love.
Not how you love.
Only that you really love.
I wonder
With such beauty,
Such peace,
Such acceptance
Available,
I wonder,
Why do people hate when they can love?
