Ready! Set! Race Day!
info which you may or may not find of use

Age Groups? We take 'em all - 1 day to 110 years!

Pre-registered?
Those who pre-register come to the race with smiles and a positive outlook! You can too! They pick up their numbers and shirts in front of the high school after 9:30 a.m. and pose for pictures with other smiling happy people before the event.

Not pre-registered?

Those not pre-registered arrive in confusion and dismay. They must stand in lines to complete a registration form, sign a liability release, pay, and hope to get one of the remaining shirts while the happy smiling people are already wearing theirs and posing for pictures .

To assure a happy start to the event, come early or take the time to print a form and pre-register
here.

Time? Schedules will be followed as closely as possible. The numbers of participants who pre-register
each year has helped in getting the events off on time. 10K walkers go at 10:30 and all others at 11:00.

The VIP in the red hat volunteers at our event and would appreciate no screaming or punching
when the official clock disagrees with that piece of expensive chrome you wear on your wrist.

Bathrooms? Bathrooms are available inside of the high school front doors and at the finish line. There are no porta-potties on the course.

Parking?
Free and ample and paved parking is available in front of the high school and everywhere else in Arlee.

We are learning to appreciate our new sidewalks and ask that you not drive or park on them.

Shirts?

This year's bear design has been donated by Tony Hoyt, a merchant and photographer and Friends of Arlee School, Inc., board member who lives in the Valley. Extra shirts will be sold on a first come basis.

Remember that only happy smiling people who registered early are guaranteed a shirt!

Bad Weather?

There is no bad weather in the Jocko Valley! We run/walk/crawl/push/ride no matter what is happening in the skies
or on the ground with our always beautiful weather.

Snacks/Drinks?
There will be water and fruit slices for those running/walking/crawling/pushing/riding as long as a number is worn.

A near-by grocery and a restaurant or two should take care of other food and drink needs.

Awards & Prizes?

Medals go to the top three finishers in each age group in the 5k and 10k and to the winner of the fun mile.
When most participants have finished (or dropped on the way), there will be a drawing for prizes donated to the event.

You'll have to be there to win.

Lost on the Course?
The course will be well marked, and our all volunteer staff of race-monitors and traffic patrol will be posted along the route to assist those needing direction.

If you find yourself being chased by a moose along the river or emerging from a cold mountain lake, you're either off-course or participating in the wrong event.

Medical Assistance?

If you are concerned about this, you probably shouldn't participate. However, the Arlee Volunteer Fire Department will be available for emergency response or to talk with you proudly about their new facilities at the south end of town.

Can't Finish?

Almost no one has ever had difficulty finishing any of the events, but vehicles sweep the course for those who want a ride or seem in trouble. If you're just taking your time, a polite wave will signal o.k. Signal if you want assistance.

We'll keep the light on for you.
