The BTEC First Diploma is a specialist work-related to qualification. it's designed to provid a preparation for career development opportunties if you are already in work.on succeddful completion you may progress into employment or continue with your studies.
This course teachers you about information systems and software applications. you learn by completion projects and assigments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.it is made up of six units, two core units that are common across all titles and five specialist units. All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is then awarded, there no examinations on this course which is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A* to C.
What can i do next?
this can lead to futher education at South Thames College you can progress to National Diploma or degress in subjects such as computing,ecommerce,IT or multimedia.it can also lead to work in business system management, e-commerce and database managment role.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is in various ways including assignments, class work, group work and oral presentations. You will also have regular meetings with your personal tutor to discuss your progress and to help plan your studies. Additional support, help and guidance are also available from the Guidance Team or from your Study Buddies.
what will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
