Me and My-family

I am B.S. Venkata Raman, born to Smt Venkatalakshmi and Sri B.Shama Rao, on 27-11-1943. My mother expired on 14-09-1958. My father expired on 29-03-1971.

From nursery to Bachelor of Science (1963), I studied in National Education Society (National College), Bangalore. After my B.E (from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - Specialisation in Electrical Communication Engineering - 1967), joined Bharat Electronics (8-5-1967) as Engineer in Transmitting Tubes Department. Went to NEC, Japan for training in Vapor Cooled Transmitting Tubes in 1970.

After serving in various divisions and departments (HF, QA, Measuring Instruments Department,  Electronic Data Processing …) for 32 years in Bharat Electronics,  took Voluntary Retirement on 30th September, 1999.

From 2001 to 2005, I was a visiting faculty for St.Joseph College of Business Administration, IGNOU, BMS college of Management Studies, Bharatidasan University (Centre for Distance Education)

Presently I am a visiting faculty for AAKSON Group of Institutions.

I chose S.K. Padma, M.Sc, as my better half, and married on 5th December, 1971. We have two daughters – Kala and Smitha.  Kala was born on 23rd June, 1973 and Smitha (Gauri) on 17th September, 1975.

Kala's marriage with Anil (son of Smt Ratnamma and Sri S.R. Lakshminaryana Rao) was performed on 1st December, 1995. Tejas was born on 11th May, 1998.

Gauri's wedlock with Sudish (son of Smt Padma and Sri B.N. Suryanarayana) was on 2nd May, 1999.
