Britney fever! TV HITS MAGAZINE July 2002 Issue #167
Earlier this year Australia was struck with Britney fever. And like thousands of her obsessed fans, TV HITS ddin't miss a beat of the action.
On April 18, Britneymania swept Fox Studios in Sydney, as thousands of fans packed the venue, hoping to catch a glimpse of the pop princess.
Initially, Brit planned to put on a free outdoor performance but due to the rain her mini-concert was moved inside City Live, the venue for the Pepsi Chart Show.
Britney treated the audience to three songs - I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, I'm A Slave 4 U and her latest single Boys - while the fans who could not get inside to see the show watched the performance on the huge screens set up outside.
Later that evening Britney, escorted by three burly bodyguards, walked the red carpet, signing autographs and posing for photos at the premiere of Crossroads.
Britney's trip Down Under followed her controversial trip to the UK, where at the London premiere of her film she was booed for snubbing her fans.
It seems Brit must have learnt her lesson, because her Australian devotees couldn't have been happier!
Come back again, Brit... one more time!
