BIOGRAPHY

Born on the 9th of January, 1978, Alexander James McLean was born in West Palm Beach, Florida (USA) with the star sign of Capricorn. Known to the world as A.J., the young man is a major flirt and also very talkative. Apart from being a member of the most popular pop band in the world, McLean has many gifts besides singing; such as, acting and dancing. A man with many talents, by the age of twelve he had already appeared in 27 plays. Since the young age of six, A.J. has been singing and entertaining audiences. With his first theatrical production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" as Dopey, his acting career was then followed by his debut with small parts in "The Nutcracker", "Fiddler On The Roof", and "The Kind And I".

After being cast in the Nickelodeon series, "Welcome Freshmen", and auditioning for other Nickelodeon shows (and Disney projects), he finally met current Backstreet Boys' members, Howie and Nick at one of these auditions and eventually Kevin and Brian joined to form the five, and then the Backstreet Boys were discovered.

Life for the 24 year old, couldn't be better. Travelling, performing and the fans are what A.J. enjoys about being in a band like the Backstreet Boys. Fame has definitely not got to A.J.'s mind, and of course he loves the fans so he is always eager to stop for the fans to get a picture taken, and/or to sign an autograph.

It is significant to say that A.J. is at the happiest stage of his life and couldn't love life any more then he already does.
