WELCOME TO PLANET BSB
Smash Hits Magazine October 1999
Last month Smash Hits brought you all the goss from the Backstreet Boys' Euro tour. This month the saga continues as we go sightseeing and greet the fans on planet BSB!
More news...
* Two days after finishing their Into The Millennium tour of Europe the boys began recording their Christmas album, which is due for release around November. Yay! Recording is scheduled to finish on September 8, a day before the MTV Awards...
* Yes, of course they're up for an award! Actually, make that four! The boys are expected to perform and have been nominated in four categories - Video Of The Year, Viewers' Choice, Best Pop Video and Best Group Video, for I Want It That Way...
* Word from BSB HQ is Nick is sporting a tattoo of a shark on his left shoulder along with two musical notes on the right side of his back. If you're keen for a glimpse of the shark tattoo head to

on the Net. Wonder if Nick will catch up to band mate AJ who has 11 tats in all? ...
* Controversy has been rife in regard to the boys' upcoming tour of America, which kicks off this month. When the confirmation of dates and ticket sales were delayed, rumours spread across the world that the group had demanded on million dollars for each concert! No one on tour has confirmed the rumour. Personally, we reckon they're worth it ...
* It's easy for see why BSB won the Smash Hits Award for Best New Tour Act in 1995. We caught up with fans from the European tour who couldn't decide what they liked best! Was it the futuristic stage set or the Stars Wars music? How about flying surfboards, bright pink costumes or taking girls from the audience up on stage? All sounds pretty popstatic to us...
* Someone has finally come up with the brilliant idea of a Backstreet Boys CD-ROM. The Puzzles In Motion musical game is about to hit stores in America! There is also one expected for 'N Sync..
* Wanna know Nick's most embarrassing tour moment? "One night I tried to get out of a dancers suit and my shoes got caught, so I decided to take them off. As I climbed up the ramp to go centre stage, I found out too late that it was slippery - I almost fell and hurt myself! It was so embarrassing cos George
Lucas (Star Wars mastermind) was in the audience!"
Don't miss all your news on the Backstreet Boys right here in Smash Hits! Next month we catch the boys working out for more crazy tours!
Why we still love the Backstreet Boys ...
Michelle Reuter is a name most of us don't know. Michelle was a gorgeous 10-year-old Backstreet Boys fan who was battling cancer. She had one wish - to meet the Backstreet Boys! Unfortunately, on July 21 Michelle lost her fight with cancer. But on July 17 her wish came true and she met the boys. All our love goes to Michelle and her family. We love knowing our favourite boys are still making dreams come true!
