‘WHAT THE FUCK YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING??’ Lisa said. ‘I’m not afraid of you anymore! Come on baby!! Come to your lady... I’m going to be nice to you’ she was walking really slowly and carefully inside of an old house, she was a little scared. It was dark, raining and there were lightning outside. There were someone who killed her sister some weeks ago, and now that person was looking for her. Suddenly, she heard a window broken. She turned around and there he was, the murderer. He jumped from the window pushing her to the floor; they both were in the floor. He was on top of her, she was trying to see his face, but it was difficult because of the darkness. He wanted to stick a knife on her and she was trying to stop him with her arms. Then, she heard a gunshot, she looked at the killer, he was shouted.  He falls on top of her, she was scared and shaking a bit, trying to push him to somewhere else... and there was Tim, taking out the killer from her.

 

‘Tim!’ she said smiling at him ‘damn! I though you...’ she barely could talk, he helped her to stand up.

‘I’m fine.... are you ok?’

‘Yeah...’ she smiled and gave him a hug.

 

‘CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!’ the director yelled ‘that was awesome!!! Man! I love both of you! You guys are incredible!’

‘Thanks’ Yoss (Lisa) smiled at him

‘I’m really happy working with you Yoss’ said Paul (Walker) who was playing Tim

‘No way, I’m the one who is happy and thankful for working with ya’ she said.

 

They all kept talking for a while, and then they left to their places. Yoss is a girl from Venezuela. She moved a couple of years ago to Tampa, Florida, where she started to go to some auditions for either TV commercials or things for Disney in Orlando, where she met her boyfriend, a member of a boy band. She still lives in Tampa, Florida; but most of the time she’s around Los Angeles acting in some movie or just spending some time with her boyfriend. Even though she has already a career as an actress, she is a junior in college, major in Film.

 

In the same city of LA, in Santa Monica, there was a small but great restaurant in front of the beach. There was another Venezuelan girl who was living in US since she was 5 years old. She used to live in Virginia with her family, but for College, she moved far from them, to California. There she was studying Culinary Arts and working in a Restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the Santa Monica area. She is the chef assistant.

 

‘Uhmmm Sijham, I really love this!’ said Francis, the chef.

‘Glad you like it’ Sij smiled

 

Sijham was a really good cooker. That was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, and she knew she will be the best. She’s dating a guy from College, but she doesn’t think is gonna last. She always starts going out with someone, but after a week, 2 weeks if he is lucky; she brakes up with him. Is always the same for her, she gets what she doesn’t want to get. Either they are kind of players or they are too ‘attaching’ to her.

 

‘Hey ‘primix’ sup?’ Sij said to Yoss by phone. They are like sisters; they know each other from a long time ago.

‘I’m going now to your work, need to talk to ya and I’m having lunch’ they both laughed

‘Cool! I’ll be here’

‘See you in some minutes’ they hung up. Yoss went to her place to take a shower and then left to where Sij was working.

 

In the east coast of the Country, in Manhattan, in NY, there was a Mexican girl who is going to College and working in the City Music Hall when there was a big event and also at the Science Museum in the city. After graduating in high school, back in her country, she went to France for a year. Now she is major in Languages. She loves languages and historic or antiques pieces. She’s a big fan of Backstreet Boys, every time that she feels lonely and homesick; BSB is the only music that makes her feels good, in company and relaxes her.

 

That afternoon, she was leaving from the Museum where she was working at to go to the University. Was crossing the street without noticing a car was coming in her direction. She was listening to her Discman, when she felt something was wrong and that was when she saw a car just right next to her. She couldn’t move after that, just looking at the car that was almost going to hit her. With lucky, the car stopped just in front of her.

 

‘What the hell??’ AJ said

‘Oh my God! I know her’ said Candy

‘You know her? Well tell her to move her ass out of the street’ he was pretty mad but at the same time was scared.

‘Come on AJ’ said Candy and she got off the car. ‘Karin?? Are you ok?’

‘Uhmhu’ tried to say something. Candy walked to her and took her out of the street.

‘Karin?’ Candy said

‘Oh my God... he almost Kill me!!!’ Karina said very mad looking at AJ who was walking from his car to the other side of the street where they were.

‘Come ON!!! You didn’t even look around if there were any car or something coming in your way!’ said AJ

‘Shut up! You both are ok! So, don’t say anything else’ said Candy

‘Candy?’ Karina said ‘my God! Long time I don’t see you’ said giving her a hug.

‘Then they ask me why I can’t understand them’ he said.

‘Look... I’m so sorry about what happened’ Candy said

‘It’s ok... glad I met you!’ she said ‘well... I gotta go! I’m late for work’

‘Where are you going? we can drop you off’ Candy said

‘No thanks’ she said looking at AJ in a bad way

‘Hey... it wasn’t my fault at all... you didn’t see’ AJ said

‘Whatever... Candy... this is my number, hope to see ya soon. Bye’ Karin said and left to her work in the Radio City Music, where she was getting ready with the whole crew of the Mtv Video Music Awards.

 

In Los Angeles, Yoss and Sijham were talking in the restaurant.

 

‘and… how are things going with JC?’ asked Sijham

‘I don’t know... I really like him, but I feel like... I don’t know, maybe there’s something missing between us, but I don’t feel it in the same way’

‘More sex?’ Sij joked.

‘Besides that’ they laughed ‘no... It’s not that... I don’t know, but it’s weird, and this weekend is the Mtv VMA, after 3 weeks finally I’m gonna get to see him’ she said

‘Gosh! Is already this weekend? I can’t believe I’m going to a VMA’ she laughed

‘We’ll have fun!’

‘I know... but I don’t know... I can’t stand them sometimes, just JC and Joey, that’s why I’m going with him’

‘I know... I don’t get along with the rest either, but I’m with JC, not with the group’ they laughed. ‘Well, actually I haven’t had the chance to meet them all. So we both are going to meet them!’ she smiled.

 

In the other side of LA, there was another Mexican Girl who just left her home in Mexico to do something different from what she was used to do back home. She moved with her aunt for a couple of weeks until she was looking for an apartment to live by herself. Since it was summer break, she decided to look for a job around the city.

 

‘Oh God... this is a really big city! It’ll be hard for me to find a summer job around here’ Yan was complaining while walking in the streets. –Now hiring- she read a sign in a restaurant. ‘Let’s try here, looks chic’ she smiled and got in.

 

‘Hello, party of one?’ the host asked her.

‘Oh no... I’m not going to eat’ she smiled ‘I saw the sign outside that you are hiring’

‘Oh okay, follow me’ he said and Yan was walking behind the host, when she saw in a small table someone she could recognize

‘Oh my God’ Yan though ‘yes, that’s... uh... what’s her name? She’s an actress’

‘Hello?’ the host said ‘here, the manager is going to be with you in a minute’

‘Thank you’ she said and sat down.

 

‘Well ‘primix’ gotta go’ Yoss said ‘I’ll pass by your place tonight’

‘Ok, nice. See you then’. Yoss left and Sijham was going back to work and saw Yan. ‘Hi! May I help you?’

‘Thanks, I’m waiting for the Manager’ Yan said.

‘Oh... ok’ Sij smiled and was walking when Yan called her back.

‘Excuse me’ she said ‘can I ask you something? that was... uh, I can’t remember her name’

‘Yes, Yoss?’

‘Yoss! That’s right!’ they smiled ‘welcome to LA Yan’ she told herself, and they both laughed

‘New around here uh?’

‘Yes, I just moved out from Mexico’

‘Well, welcome! I’m Sijham, I work here’ she said smiling

‘Nice to meet you, I’m Yan’ and in that moment the manager called Yan

‘Good luck!’ she said and they both walked to their places.

 

‘Hello, have a sit’ Liss, the manager said.

 

Liss, a Mexican girl who was living in Boston for the college, and after graduating, she went to LA after a friend of her, give her the opportunity to work in a new restaurant as a manager. She is a very busy girl, loves her job and loves to be the best at it, and she was.

 

‘Thanks’ Yan said and sat down.

‘So, you’re looking for a job? You have a curriculum?’

‘Yes, here it is’ Yan gave it to Liss. She started to read it. ‘I just move from Mexico’

‘Are you for real? Where in Mexico? ’

‘Mexicali’

‘Nice, I’m from Hidalgo, I’ve been living here for about 7 years’ she said. ‘Well, I see you had work before as a waitress’

‘Yes, for a couple of months’

‘Well, I guess you can star working here for a couple of days, to test you’ she smiled.

‘That will be perfect!’ Yan Smiled. Liss explained her all her work, her schedule. Then Liss called one of the waiter to show her the place.

 

The next day, in NY, Karina was sleeping when the phone rang. She moved her hand around the night table next to her bed until she got the phone.

 

‘Hello?’ she answered

‘Karin? I’m sorry, did I wake you up?.. it’s Candy’

‘Oh! Hi! Well, yes, I had a long day yesterday, it’s ok, I have to wake up anyway’ she said ‘so, how are you? How have you been?’

‘Good! Everything is great!’ They talk for a little bit and then decided to go and have lunch together.

 

In the west side, in LA, Yan was going to her first day of work. She arrived and the place was closed. Some minutes later, Sijham got there. They both greet each other and started talking while Sij was opening the place.

 

‘glad you had the job’

‘yes, well, she told me it will be for a test, so, let’s see how I go with this’

‘you’ll be fine’ Sij smiled.

‘so, there are a lot of celebrities that come around here?’

‘sometimes, I don’t know about it since I work back there’ they laughed ‘but I bet you they come. Did you came to LA for show biz?’

‘well, I changed my major, so If i’m lucky, after college, I’ll get a great job!’

‘why? You didn’t like it here?’ Liss, who just got there, said and smiled.

‘no, I like it here, but after college, I’ll have to look for something to do with my major, in TV, radio or theater’ she smiled.

‘that’s nice... well, welcome to LA. Here’s the place’ Sij smiled

‘sure’ Liss said ‘so, how are you both doing?’

‘great! Excited for tomorrow!’ Sijham smiled

‘you’re gonna leave me alone’ Liss joked ‘to go with those... those... something’ they laughed

‘but here is Yan now! You go shopping with her’

‘I love shopping’ Yan smiled

‘great!’ Liss said

‘so you’re friends, not only coworkers?’ Yan asked

‘yes, we always hang out’ Sij said.

‘at work i’m the manager, outside i’m a girl just like you two’ she joked ‘well, it’s time to become the manager’ they all laughed and started to work.

 

Back in NY, Karina went to classes and in the afternoon she went to a restaurant where Candy told her to meet. As soon as she arrived there, she saw AJ and then Candy.

 

‘are they dating?’ she though

‘hey!!’ Candy ‘this is my cousin’

‘who needs lessons to drive, right?’ she smiled

‘you’re pretty funny’. They walked to a table, and the girls didn’t stop talking about everything since last time they saw each other. 2 years ago, they both met in France, they got along very well, and after that, they couldn’t keep in touch.

 

Later that day, Sijham, Yan, Liss and Yoss went to a Mall. They talked, laughed; try different costumes (yes, Halloween was close) and clothes. They had such a great afternoon.

 

The next day, Yoss and Sijham were traveling to NY. In the plane...

 

‘I can’t believe I’m going to a VMA!’ Sij said

‘Actually, it’s gonna be the first time I go too’

‘cool’

 

In NY...

 

‘I can’t believe I’m gonna be really close to the boys! And so many celebrities! Well... the only one I rather don’t see is AJ, even when he’s nice... but he almost kill me!’ she started to laughed while thinking about the big night the next day.

 

Finally, the big day has arrived. Sijham and Yoss were in their room at the Hotel where they were staying. They were getting ready, there were some people working in their hair and make up.

 

‘are the guys picking us up?’ Sij asked

‘we’re gonna meet in the lobby’ Yoss said

 

While they were getting ready, Karina was already in the Radio Music working with the Mtv and the RMCH crew. She was one of the people in the red carpet telling all the celebrities where they have to go.

 

‘this is crazy!.. but I like it’ she was thinking ‘Oh God, that’s Will Smith’

 

In LA, Yan and Liss after work, they decided to go to a cafe and watch their friends by TV. After a couple of hours, Yoss and Sijham were already in the limo that was taking them to the awards. They were all with a date...

 

‘so how do I look? Do I look hotter than you all?’ Justin was saying. Yoss and Sijham were almost jumping out of the limo, but finally they arrived. The car stopped, and they were walking by the red carpet. They all stop at the beginning, the girls stood back while the five of them were posing for some pictures.

 

‘finally we got out of there, that... J.. was driving me nuts’ Sij said, Yoss laughed

 

In LA...

 

‘oh there they are!!’ Yan said pointed the TV.

 

Back in NY...

 

‘ok... go to your left guys’ Karina said to them

‘hey.. do I know you?’ Sijham asked Karina

‘me? I don’t think so’ she smiled

‘come on Sij’ Joey called her. Sij looked at Karina one more time and then walked with Joey.

 

‘yeah right! You know me! You’re probably a top model, that’s why you’re dating those freaks’ Karina was thinking. ‘yes, go to the left please’ she said to a couple who was arriving.

 

‘who was she?’ Yoss asked Sij while the guys were talking with Mtv News.

‘I don’t know, but I really think I know her from somewhere’ she said

‘Yoss! Yoss! Over here’ some one from a magazine called her.

‘damn! this is what I hate!’ she laugh ‘come with me’ she said taking Sij with her ‘hi!’ she smiled

 

‘oh great! There they are!’ though Karina when she saw Backstreet Boys, all alone. AJ saw her and walked to her.

‘hey! Didn’t know you work here’ AJ said

‘yes... go to your left please!’ she said smiling to the rest of the guys

‘ok, I’m trying to be nice and you don’t accept it, it wasn’t my fault at all, but if that’s the way you want it, ok!’ he smiled. She saw him confused

‘I’m not gonna say anything to you now, not here’ she said

‘come on AJ’ Kevin called him

‘yes, welcome, to your left please’ she smiled to Jennifer Lopez with new boyfriend.. oh no! It’s the same! ‘woo! Jlo and Ben for a long time’ Karin though

 

‘well, this is Sij, she’s my best friend!’ said Yoss after an interview

‘nice, are you from Venezuela also?’

‘yes, but different city’ she said

‘woao! Venezuelan girls around here’ someone said behind them ‘i’m sorry girls, we just came back from Venezuela’ AJ smiled at them. ‘all the latin girls are beautiful’ AJ said to the magazine.

‘are you all together?’ the magazine asked them, while Sijham, was looking around trying to find Kevin, and there he was. He was talking to some TV news, she looked at him and in the same moment, he turned around and saw Sijham few steps far from him. Sijham looked back at her friend after she spoke. AJ left.

‘oh no, no, no!’ Yoss said. ‘well.. we gotta go’

‘let me take you the picture first’

‘sure’ Yoss said and Sij was looking again for Kevin, but he wasn’t around anymore.

 

Yoss and Sijham posed to the magazine and after they walked to the guys of Nsync.

 

‘I’m alive!’ Sij smiled ‘oh God... he’s so damn hot!!’ she said.

‘thanks baby’ Justin said. Sijham gave him a bad look and walked to Joey

‘Do I have to be with you? after I saw Kevin’ she though looking at Joey.

‘sorry, you know how this goes, a magazine called me and blah blah’ Yoss said to JC

‘it’s ok’ he said as they kept walking.

 

‘am I dreaming or that was Yoss?’ Nick asked AJ

‘yep, that was her! And with her boyfriend’ AJ said

‘I can’t stand her’ Nick said

‘are you still thinking about that...’ he was telling him.

‘shut up!’ Nick told him and they walked by the red carpet ‘don’t wanna talk about it. Not now, not here’

 

They finally got inside the theater, it was crowed! There were people all around, talking, taking pictures, interviews and more. Sijham and Yoss were talking...

 

‘oh... you didn’t wanna see him, right?’ Sij asked

‘who?’ she smiled trying to ignored what Sij really meant

‘you know who!’

‘I mean, you have to see Kevin’

‘and I saw him’ she smiled

‘so, i’m gonna help you to meet him, but I don’t wanna be near or with...you know who!’ Yoss said.

‘hello ladies’ Joey said ‘we’re going inside’ he said while JC was hugging Yoss.

 

So they went inside, they took their places and sat down. The show was amazing, the guys performed and BSB won 2 awards. Later on, they all went to an after party. Everybody was having such a great night. Yoss was talking with Sijham in a side of the room...

 

‘this is so great’ Sij said

‘yeahh’ Yoss said a little bit drunk

‘oh no! Stop drinking’ she laughed

‘hey.. look who’s coming’ Sij just could think about Kevin.

‘Hey Yoss’ Kev said when he saw her ‘how have you been?’

‘hello! I’ve been just great!... oh! This is my best friend, Sijham, he’s Kevin, Kevin.. sijham’

‘oh Hi! Nice to meet you’ he said shaking her hand.

‘be right back... my boy is calling me’ she said ‘oh.. and say hi to Nick’ said laughing and walked away.

‘she is not supposed to be drinking’ Sij said and smiled

‘yeah!.. you know her!’ they smiled ‘so, are you from Venezuela also?’

‘yes, but I’ve been living here for a long time. In Virginia actually’ she said

‘oh nice!’ They were talking a bit about themselves.

 

‘oh Yoss... don’t drink!’ Justin said.

‘it’s ok! I’m fine!’ she laughed and kissed JC

‘baby... no more for you’ JC said taking a cup from her.

‘oh! I don’t like you anymore’ said and kissed him again. ‘be right back’ and walked away from there.

 

Yoss was walking around, took a glass of water and saw Nick talking with a girl. She smiled and walked to him.

 

‘hello!’ she smiled.

‘what are you doing here?’ he said. The girl smiled at them

‘I’m going to the restroom’ the girl said

‘bye’ Yoss told her.

‘so?... you’re drunk again!’

‘just like the last time I saw you... and you were too’ she smiled and then laughed

‘I don’t wanna talk about it, ok?’

‘ok.. ok.. I better leave you alone... why am I gonna talk to you anyway, when I’m sure you won’t believe a word of what I’m saying! You won’t never believe in my words, you never did, you never will... So, it’s better not to bother you, Mr. Carter’ she said upset and walked to Sijham.

 

‘I think I’m going home, I don’t feel good around here’ she said and went over JC.

 

‘I think she was talking with Nick’ Kevin said

‘it might be’ she said ‘well, I’m with her!’

‘ok! It was nice to meeting you’ he smiled ‘hope to see you soon’

‘you too’ she smiled

‘Take care’

 

In the Limo, Yoss was all quite while all the guys were talking. Sijham and Yoss went to their room...

 

‘how do you feel?’

‘oh... I can’t believe it. I’m still in love with him!’ she said while going to her bed and felt asleep.

 

In the BSB hotel, Brian and Nick were talking in Brian’s room...

 

‘man, I don’t feel good. It was a long time I didn’t see her personally, didn’t talk to her... nothing, and tonight, she’s with JC! That’s what she wanted! She couldn’t get it from me, and she ran into him! To get her fame’ he said upset and maybe a bit jealous

‘oh come on! Maybe is not like that! I think she got fame before dating him’ Brian said

‘I don’t think so!’ Nick said and Kevin got in the room

‘hey! what are you doing?’ he asked

‘Nick talking about her’

‘I can’t stand her! She’s a liar! She’s fake!’

‘and you can’t stop thinking about her! Face it!’ Kevin said

‘yeah right!’ Nick said sarcastically 

‘so, stop worrying about her! If you really don’t care about her’ Kevin said

‘he’s right’ Brian said

‘forget it!... I’m gonna sleep, see ya tomorrow’ he left

‘uh... that will never changed’ Brian said ‘hey! what about you? who was the girl you were talking to?’ Brian was joking and Kevin laughed

‘well, she was Sijham, Yoss’ friend!’

‘really? Ouch!’

‘yeah, I know, but she’s nice, a really nice friend’

‘just that?’

‘hello?.. I’m married, remember that?’

‘I know!’ he laughed ‘I know about that... just that mine didn’t work at all’

 

In Nick’s room, he was in his bed...

‘why did you have to appear in my life again? I was great before tonight! Get out of my life!! Could you?... bah.. what am I saying? Who am I fooling when I can’t get you out of my mind after all you’ve done’ he was thinking... until he felt asleep

 

The next day, JC passed by Yoss and Sij’s room to wake them up, so like that they all can go and have breakfast together, before Yoss and Sij leave. Karina was doing the same, she woke up and was having breakfast when the phone rang.

 

‘hello?’

‘Karin? Hi! It’s Candy’

‘oh! Hi! What’s up?’

‘nothing much! Alex told me you worked yesterday at the radio Music, I didn’t know you work there’

‘oh yes, I saw him. I’ve been working for a couple of weeks there’ she said

‘nice. Oh listen, tonight i’m gonna be playing at the Lion, in 43 st with 5^th ave’

‘playing?’ laughing ‘well, I didn’t know you play! You sing also, or just in a band?’

‘yeah, I’m a singer, Alex is helping me a bit with it, I play guitar also’ she said ‘Alex is not gonna be there. He told me you two don’t get along, am I right?’

‘well... I was working and he was talking with me, he got mad... I don’t care’ she said ‘hey.. you haven’t told him that I’m a fan of them and all the things I told you back in France when I didn’t know anything about all this with you’

‘oh! Noo! No, no, of course I haven’t say anything. Well Karin, I gotta go now! Hope to see you there, ok?’

‘sure! That’ll be great! At 9?’

‘yes, at 9... at the Lion’

‘cool’ They both hang up.

 

At breakfast in the hotel...

 

‘I can’t remember anything... maybe few things’ Yoss said

‘you didn’t do anything wrong’ JC told her smiling.

‘but it was great yesterday night’ Sij said.

‘glad you like it’ Joey said

‘you’re nice, you should come with Yoss anytime she comes with us’ Justin said

‘i’ll try. But I have so much work! This time, cuz I talk with my manager for weeks’ she said

‘oh come on! We both talk with Liss next time’ Yoss said

‘you know how is she... she is our friend, but for those things, she’s still my boss’ Sij laughed.

‘oh God.. look at the time, we have to be in LA at 6pm, so we cannot lose the flight’ Yoss said.

 

In LA...

 

Yan was waking up to go to work. She took a shower, got ready and took her car to go to the restaurant. In the way, she was listening to the radio, when she heard...

Back in NY, in the girls room. Yoss was finishing to pack her things, while Sijham was in the lobby using the Internet checking out her emails. She logged on in the MSN messenger and saw one of her friends...

In the airport...

 

‘hey.. is that Kevin??’ Yoss asked. Sij turned around and there he was.

‘oh yes!’

‘is he alone?... I think so.. call him!’

‘no way! You call him!’ Sij said

‘well.. he saw us!’ they laughed

‘hello ladies! How are you?’

‘hey! we’re good, just with a headache’ they laughed

‘where are you going?’ Kev asked

‘back to LA’ Sij said. ‘what about you?’

‘Kentucky, mom’s birthday and it’s been a long since I last saw her’

‘oh! That’s nice!’ Yoss said ‘I need a coffee... do you guys want some?’

‘no, i’m fine’ Sij said

‘thanks’ Kevin said, and Yoss went to a starbucks that was in the place.

‘so, did you have fun yesterday?’

‘oh yeah! It was great!’ She said ‘and I really needed something like that’ they laughed ‘I’ve been working for months without a break’

‘yeah, same here... the tour... and all that’ he said ‘hey, you should give me the address of your restaurant, so like that I can pass by when I go to LA. And your phone number... if you don’t mind’ he said a bit shy

‘sure!’ she gave him the address and phone number. They kept talking for a while, until Yoss got there and it was time for them to leave.

‘well, it was nice to see you both! have a nice flight’ he said

‘you too! Take care!’ Sij said

‘yeah! Bye!’ Yoss said.

‘hey Yoss... can I ask you something?’ he said and she walked to him.

‘yeah, I guess’

‘I know it’s not my business.. but, you both are my friends..’

‘oh... if you’re gonna say something ‘bout him... please, keep it to yourself’

‘ok.. at least that answers it’

‘what? Hold on.. what?’ she asked curious

‘no, just that I though you both talked yesterday or something...and maybe you…’ he wanted to say something else, but he didn’t.

‘fix things between us? oh! No... and I don’t want to. He never wanted, so…’ she said and Sij called her from far ‘I gotta go! Take care uh!’

‘you too.. bye!’

 

 

Karina, went to the museum to work during that afternoon. Yan and Liss were working the whole afternoon at the Restaurant. Sijham and Yoss felt asleep in the plane...

 

‘oh come on!! That point doesn’t count!’ Yoss was telling Nick. They were playing basketball at Nick’s back yard in his house in Tampa.

‘oh no! You say it cuz I’m winning!’ they were laughing. She took the bball from him and run around bouncing the ball. They were laughing, she was around 15 and he were 18 years old.

 

Yoss woke up when she was asked...

 

‘what would you like to eat?’

‘oh.. no... thanks!’ she smiled and tried to go back to sleep. But couldn’t, she was thinking about that dream and everything that happened with Nick some years ago.

 

Later that day, Yoss and Sijham arrived in LA. They both had an interview about Yoss foundation where Sij was working with her. Liss and Yan were in the Restaurant working, after that, they all decided to meet in Sij’s house and hang out for a while. In NY, Karina was getting ready to go to ‘The Lion’ as she promised to Candy.

 

Around 9:30pm, in NY...

 

‘I guess is here’ Karina said when she got to the place. She got in. There were some tables in front of a small stage, she sat down and asked for a frozen drink.

‘I didn’t know you were coming’ some one said behind her. She turned around and there he was again.

‘Candy told me you weren’t coming’ she said

‘I wasn’t... can I sit?’ AJ said and sat down.

‘oh yeah! At least, can I answer it?’ she said

‘thanks. Well, I was going to LA, to visit my girlfriend’ he smiled waiting for a response from her.

‘oh! So you got a girlfriend’

‘oh yeah! But I decided to stay here, see my cousin singing and.. if you let me, maybe get to know you better. After that accident, I guess it was destiny’ he smiled and she laughed

‘you’re telling me you got a girlfriend, and you wanna know me better?’ she smiled and drank a bit of her beverage ‘and it was destiny’

‘yeah! I have the feeling you’re not that dark as you look... if so, I wanna know all behind the darkness’ he said, she smiled and bite her lips getting closer to him, he was a bit nervous.

‘all behind it?’ she asked smiling. And in that moment, the lights went out and the spot light was on Candy.

‘sorry, she’s gonna start’ Karin said. AJ smiled and he was really waiting for something else. The music started, Candy was singing and playing the guitar, it was awesome! She was great! After the song, the people who were there applauded and were cheering for her.

 

‘yeah! Thank you!’ she was very happy ‘thank you! thank you! for being here tonight. And I hope you have a great night!! My name is Candy... and the song I just played I wrote it and it calls ‘Nights’... this next song, is one of my favorite, is from a South America group, so is gonna be in Spanish... hope you like it, this is until today.. After a couple of songs, the show was over...

 

‘so.., where were we?’ AJ asked Karin smiling

‘we?’ she laughed ‘I don’t know about you’ she said ‘you’re trying so hard’ she laughed

‘trying so hard? What do you mean?’

‘never mind’ she drank a bit of her drink

‘come on! Tell me’

‘no!’ she smiled ‘you got a girlfriend’

‘okay.. I get your point’ he said and they were quite for a while ‘ok, I’m trying to be nice with you and you are like nothing is happening!...

‘nice?’ she looked at him ‘trying to hook up and being nice?’ she was honest and smiled

‘what?’ he laughed ‘ok.. maybe!.. anyway, let me buy you a drink’ he said after he saw her glass was empty and she accepted it. He asked for something to the waitress.

‘Juice??’ Karin said surprised when she saw the drink he asked for her.

‘yes, better than alcohol!’ he said ‘believe me’ She smiled. Just after that, Candy got to their table. They were talking and having a great night. Late at night, AJ and Candy drop Karin at her apartment.

 

After a couple of days, Yoss started working at her new project in a movie, she was the executive producer, she also co-write the screenplay, but wasn’t acting at all. Sijham, Yan and Liss were working hard as usual at the restaurant. Yan now was a really great friend of them. AJ left NY for a couple of days to LA to be with her girlfriend. Candy and Karina were hanging out every day. Kevin went to LA also with Kristin, his wife. One night, Kevin decided to go to the restaurant where Sijham was working.

 

‘Sij, there’s someone you would love to see in table #50’ Yan said to Sijham ‘he asked about you’ she smiled

‘for me? Who is he?’

‘go and see it by yourself’ Yan couldn’t stop smiling.

‘okey’ sij said wondering about who could it be. She walked out of the kitchen and went to the table #50

‘hello!’ Kevin said when he saw Sijham

‘hi! How are you?’ she said smiling and looked at Kristin

‘oh! This is Kristin’ he said

‘his wife’ Kristin smiled

‘oh hi! Nice to meet you’ she said and Kristin just smiled. ‘glad to see you again!’ she said looking at Kevin

‘yes, you too. I told her we should pass by here, she told me it’s a great place’

‘the food is delicious’ Kristin said

‘thanks!’ she smiled ‘well... hope to see both of you soon, but gotta go back to work’

‘sure! Take care!’ Kevin said

‘bye’

 

Sijham went back to the kitchen while Kristin and Kevin were talking.

 

‘so, where do you know her from?’

‘in NY, she’s Yoss’ friend’ he said

‘oh ok.. Yoss introduced her to you?’

‘yes’

‘oh... does she knows that you’re married with me, right?’

‘oh come on Kris’ he said ‘don’t be jealous’ they didn’t talk about it for... the rest of the night.

 

Later that night, Yan was waiting for Liss and Sijham to go clubbing with Yoss. When they were leaving the restaurant in Sijham’s car...

 

‘so... what’s up with you and that backstreet boy?’ Liss asked

‘excuse me?’ sijham laughed

‘oh yeah! Even though he’s married it doesn’t mean you don’t feel something for him!’ Yan smiled

‘oh shut up!’ she was laughing ‘nothing! I admire him so much and that’s all!’

‘yeah right’ Yan said

‘for real! He’s a great guy, he’s married and that’s it!’ she said. They were joking about it until they got at Yoss’ place.

 

‘yeahhhhhh party baby!!!!!’ said Yoss when she opened the door. They all laughed

‘happy?’ Sij asked smiling

‘oh yeah! Long time I don’t go parting’ she said

‘it’s been a week’ Yan said

‘that’s why’ Yoss joked ‘who wants tequila?’

‘yeah!’ sij said

‘me too’ Yan said

‘not for me’ Liss said

‘oh come on!!’ Yoss staring playing with her

‘no way! I’m not gonna drink. Working tomorrow, no drinking’ she said

‘ok.. ok’ Sij said. They drank a bit of tequila and went clubbing.

 

After walking around between some clubs, they went to their favorite one. They walked to the second floor as usually. They were dancing, drinking, and having a great time. It was 4am, they were already leaving from there, while waiting for the car from the Valet Parking, there was someone Yan could recognize.

 

‘what are you doing here, Samuel?’ she asked him ‘you should not be close to me! You know that!’

‘my lovely Yan! I miss you, so I found out you were here’ he smiled ‘I guess you’re Yan’s friends’ he said looking at the girls ‘nice to meeting you’ he said

‘did you find out or... follow me?’ Yan said. The girls knew that he wasn’t a really good friend of hers.

‘baby, I just missed you, so I came to see you’ he said open up his arms for a hug. The car arrived.

‘goodbye!’ she said and they all walked to the car.

‘Yan! I’ll find you anyway! I love you!!’ he was telling her while they were getting into the car.

‘give me a break! Get out of my life!! Goodbye!’ Yan said a bit upset and they left.

 

Everyone in the car was quite waiting for Yan to say something. They were looking at each other without saying a word...

 

‘I hate him!’ finally said something

‘who is he?’ Sij asked

‘a psycho!’ Yan said ‘we were dating for a couple of week back in Mexico, but I just didn’t feel like in the beginning, you know? So, we broke up. It was nice for some days and after he came to me like if we were together and he started fighting with me for nothing! And I said we broke up and all that! Later, he was calling me all the time, following me everywhere, until I came here!’ she explained. ‘and he almost... he almost rape me’ she said

‘what?’ Liss asked

‘what happened? He shouldn’t be free!’ Sij said

‘I tried to do something, but he’s very powerful in my city’ she said ‘so it’s difficult’

‘oh no! But now we’re here!! Yan, you stay at my place tonight! There’s security and probably he will go after you’ Yoss said

‘it’s ok! He just tried but... nothing happened’ Yan said

‘maybe that time!! He’s here now! You’ll never now’ Liss said

 

Finally, Yan decided to go to Yoss house and sleep over there. The next morning, at Sijham’s place, she was waking up and decided to check up her emails...

 

Hey girl! What’s up? I’m going tomorrow to LA, my aunt is going over there so I decided to go and visit you! J hope you can read this on time so like that we can meet each other! Write me asap ;)

During that day everything was great. Yoss and Yan went shopping after they woke up, then Yan went with her to the studio. Sijham, Yan and Liss were in their day off. Later that day they all went to the beach. Karina was in NY getting ready for the next day to go to LA.

 

At Kevin’s House with Kristin, in the living room...

 

‘so, when are we having babies?’ Kristin asked him

‘we’re working on that!’ he said while reading a book

‘not now!’ she tried to warm things a little bit

‘I’m reading’ he said

‘baby... I just.. I don’t know! Since you saw that girl from the restaurant’ she was saying while Kevin was taking his book out and paying attention to her ‘you’ve been kind of.. away from me’

‘what?’ he laughed ‘baby! I love you, you know that! What does Sijham, that’s her name by the way, has to do with us? With everything!’

‘I don’t know! You tell me! You just met her once and wanna go to her restaurant and call her later and everything’

‘well, you told me it was a really good place!’

‘I know! But still’

‘still what? Are you jealous?? Can you leave the jealousy out of this? there’s nothing going on with her! Do you understand!? We’ve been together for years! I like to be with you! she’s just a friend I met, like anyone’

‘no, no any one! It’s different’

‘it’s not!... oh! You know? I’m not gonna discuss this with you! it’s not worthy! I’m going to bed now!’ he stood up ‘goodnight’ he said and walked away

‘Kevin!! Baby!! I’m sorry! I just... bah...’ she was saying walking behind him

 

At Brian’s place, he was talking with Nick...

 

‘sometimes I miss her...’ Brian said about Leighanne, his ex-wife.

‘come on bro! Get over it! She was cheating on you! that’s not good! it’s over!’ Nick said

‘you’re right! I have to forget about her!’

‘we’re going to party tomorrow!’ Nick said

‘you’re nuts, right? I’m not going to party!’

‘you should come tomorrow with me and AJ!.. no, I’m sorry! You ARE going with us!’

‘Nick, you know I like to have fun but not like the 2 of you!’ he said

‘we’ll see’ he smiled

‘what about you? are you going to forget about her or what?’ Brian asked Nick

‘about Leighanne?’ he asked trying to get out of the question

‘you know who I meant’

‘let’s go and have fun tomorrow’ Nick said

 

At Karina’s apartment later that day...

 

‘uhm.. LA... Alex is there’ Candy smiled at her

‘so?’

‘so?... so you’re probably gonna see him! You should’

‘no, i’m not!’ Karina was packing her things for the trip to LA

‘come on! You like him! He seems to likes you’

‘seems?’ she laughed ‘he got a girlfriend.. ok, no... a fiancée!! Worst! So.. forget about it!. I’m sorry he’s your cousin, but he’s an idiot!’

‘you’re right! But he’ll change!’

‘not now!’

‘he will! He’s just like any guys who haven’t found the right one, so he’s enjoying life!’

‘with girls all over the world! And not only that... did I missed that he’s engaged?’

‘yeah, you’re right! engaged! But not in love! I’m sure!’ Candy said smiling ‘you know his world... the life he’s living! It’s not easy to find the right one!’

‘whatever! But still! It doesn’t give him the right to go fooling girls around!’

‘what about the girls who go and play him?? Nobody think about it’

 

The next day, Karina was already in LA. Sijham went with Yan where Karin was staying. They got to the lobby and sat down in some sits.

 

‘so you don’t know her’ Yan asked

‘no, we’ve been talking for a while by chat, she likes BSB as well but we had never have the chance to send each other a pic’ she said

‘oh God! I can’t believe it!’

‘what?’

‘there’s an old friend of mine over there... be right back, I’m gonna say hi’ Yan said and walked to her friend.

‘hey Karin!!!’

‘Yan??? This is great!!’ they hugged each other ‘what are you doing here?’

‘I live here in LA now!’ she said ‘so what are you doing now?’ Yan said

‘nothing, I’m just gonna meet with a friend here.. and later, no clue’

‘oh, well, we’re going to party tonight! You should come!’ Yan said ‘come and let me introduce you my friend’

‘is that her?’ she asked

‘yes, why?’

‘is she Sijham?’

‘ohh!! So you are her friend from Mexico!’ Yan laughed

 

So they got together and finally met each other...

 

‘see, I told you in NY I know you from somewhere!’ Sij said to Karin

‘I know! I remember! So, are you dating Joey Fatone???’

‘no way!’ they laughed ‘it was just a date for that night!’

‘what about Kevin?’ Karina asked smiling

‘he came over to the restaurant 2 days ago’ Yan smiled

‘he’s just a friend! He’s married!’

‘that sucks!’ Karin said

‘you say it cuz AJ, right?’ Sij said

‘he’s a husband to be... and not mine!’ Karina said ‘but anyway... don’t care. He’s a player!’ she said. They kept talking for a while and after Yan and Sijham had to go to work. That night they all were going clubbing as always on weekends.

 

That night, the girls were having so much fun in the VIP area, in the 2^nd floor of the club. It was one of the best clubs around Santa Monica Area. They were talking, joking, laughing, drinking, and meeting so many people around. Yan and Karina went down to dance with some Yan’s friend from work and University. Liss was talking in a table with an old friend of hers back from Boston. Sijham and Yoss went to the bar for some drinks while dancing with some guys around.

 

Yan and Karina were dancing in the first floor and decided to go for another drink. They walked to the bar and while they were there, someone from the 2^nd floor were yelling Karina’s name....

 

‘Karina!!!’ someone yelled

‘I think someone is calling you’ Yan said ‘I know.. I heard my name’ she said looking around. Finally saw AJ in the 2^nd floor ‘oh my God’ she said surprised

‘what? What is it?’ Yan asked her.

‘it’s AJ! I can’t believe he’s here’ she said waving at him. He made a sign telling her to go upstairs. After buying their drinks they went upstairs, first they saw Liss, Yoss and Sijham and they walked to them.

‘hey!!!! How’s the party going?’ Yoss asked

‘great!! We’re having a blast’ Yan said ‘Karin already found her guy’ she joked

‘what?? AJ’s not my guy!’ she said

‘AJ?’ Yoss asked a bit worried, if that ‘AJ’ were the same one she knows, if so... Nick probably was around too.

‘from the Backstreet Boys!’ Yan said ‘uhm.. probably Kevin is here too’ she said smiling to Sij, they all laughed, but Yoss. Sij looked at Yoss face

‘don’t worry’ Sij said to her.

‘well.. I’ll say hello’ Karina said and walked to AJ who was in the other side of the room. It was a big place; they couldn’t see each other that easy.

 

Karina walked to AJ and greeted him. He introduce his friends, Brian, Nick and others friends.

 

‘so, when did you get here?’ he asked her

‘this morning’ she smiled

‘cool! And how long are you gonna be here’

‘dunno yet. Probably a couple of days’

‘or weeks’ he smiled

‘I don’t know’ she laughed

‘so who are you hanging out with?’

‘oh some friends of mine’

‘let’s say hi! My bro here (Brian) is kind of lonely’ he joked

‘oh come on! Shut up!’ Brian said and they walked to the other side.

 

‘oh great!’ Nick said when he saw Yoss

‘oh... you know her?’ AJ asked Karina pointing at Yoss

‘yes’ she said ‘hey girls’ they all turned around ‘they are Yan, Sij, Liss and Yoss’ she said

‘hi’ AJ said.

‘hey alex! Hey Brian’ Yoss said and walked away

‘I’ll be in the other side’ Nick said and walked away also. They all looked at each other, no one but Sijham and the boys knew what was going on. They were talking and dancing, while Yoss was at the bar having a drink and talking with Ashton Kutcher who was there also. Nick looked at her...

 

‘she’s still the Yoss I knew’ Nick was thinking ‘dating one, flirting with another’

 

Karina and AJ were dancing all night long. Brian, Liss, Sij and Yan were talking...

 

‘so you are Sij, Yoss’ cousin’ Brian said

‘that’s me!’ she smiled ‘but... why is that?’

‘I heard about you’ he said

‘the famous Sij’ Yan joked

‘yeah right’ she said ‘probably from Yoss, right?’

‘actually... no. But never mind’ he smiled

‘okay!’ she said ‘why is he saying that?’ she thought to herself. Yoss walked to them.

‘hey guys’ she smiled and sat next to Brian

‘is everything ok?’ he asked

‘yeah... I guess’ she smiled a bit disappointed ‘so how are you doin’? Long time don’t see you’ she asked ‘well.. you know’

‘where’s Nick?’ Yan asked

‘don’t bother’ Yoss said

‘he’s probably dancing’ Brian said.

‘no, here he comes’ Liss said. Yoss turned around and saw him.

‘hello!’ he said smiling at everyone ‘Brian, we’re leaving now. Katy is tired’ he said to him. Yoss was looking at her friends and drinking her beverage without looking at him. Nick said ‘bye’ to everyone and left. Katy was waiting for him down stairs.

 

‘I can’t believe it’ Yoss said to herself, Yan heard what she said and was wondering what was going on between her and Nick. They kept talking, having fun for a couple of minutes and then they all left. The girls decided to sleep over Yoss’ place that night.

 

As usually, like every girl when they hang out with their girl friends, they were talking about the cute guys in the club. And of course, especially AJ, Brian and... Nick.

 

‘so what’s up with you and AJ?’ Liss asked Karina

‘nothing, we’re just friends. We met a couple of weeks ago in NY cuz a had a friend who is his cousin’

‘but you were dancing so tight’ Yan joked ‘that ‘just friends’ don’t dance like you did’ they all laughed

‘well, it doesn’t affect anyone’ Karina joked

‘Yoss, can I ask you something?’ Yan said, Yoss smiled ‘do you know Nick from a long time?... you don’t get along, do you?’ Yoss passed her hands by her face and took a big breath.

‘well ladies, I’m gonna sleep now’ she smiled and turned around in the bed, facing the wall and the back to them.

‘oh noo’ Liss said ‘we’re friends...’ she was saying while Sij was making some signs to make them stop talking about it ‘and...’ she was noticing what Sij was doing ‘well, you know you can count with us any time’ she finally said.

‘well.. what about if we go downstairs’ Yan said, and they all walked away from Yoss’ room.

 

The next afternoon, Yan, Liss and Sijham went to work as usually. Kevin and Brian decided to go and have lunch in the restaurant.

 

‘there she is’ Brian said when he saw Yan 4 tables far from them.

‘who?’

‘remember I told you we hanged out yesterday night with Sijham, Yoss and some other friends?... well, here she comes’ he said and Yan walked to them.

‘hey! How are you?’ she greeted Brian

‘great! Oh.. this is my cousin’ he said

‘oh, hi! I think we met before’ she smiled

‘yeah, we did’

‘so, I guess I’ll be your waitress today’ they smiled ‘ready to order?’

‘uhm.. I think so’ Brian said. They ordered what they wanted and Yan went to the kitchen.

 

‘hey Sij... guess who’s here?’

‘who?’ she said while cooking some Lobster.

‘the backstreet cousins’

‘Kevin and Brian?’ she said washing her hands and smiling

‘uhhh but look at you!! you have to see the bright in your eyes’ she smiled

‘what? No way!’ she smiled shyly. Yan laughed.

‘ok, I gotta go back to work’ Yan said and got out of the kitchen

 

While in the table, Brian and Kevin were talking.

 

‘and you met her yesterday?’ Kevin asked him

‘yes, we talked for about 2 hours, till they left. She’s nice!’

‘you should ask her out’ Kevin suggested

‘who? Yan? I don’t think she will’

‘why not? Oh rok.. come on! You’ve been single for what now?.. 2 months? Just try it!’ he said. As soon as he finished saying the last word, Yan went to their table.

‘here I am’ she said with the plates in her hands placing them in the table.

‘so what are you doing tonight?’ Kevin said, getting a bad look from Brian, he smiled at him.

‘uhm.. nothing, I guess my girl friends and I are hitting the movie theater’ she smiled

‘and tomorrow?’ Kevin asked again

‘uhm... nothing! I guess’ she said wondering why he was making so many questions.

‘perfect! We’re having a small reunion at my place!’ Kevin said ‘so, I don’t know, tell Sijham, Yoss...’ he added.

‘ok! Sound good!’ she smiled ‘well, gotta go back to work’ she said walking back to the kitchen.

 

‘we have a party tomorrow!’ Yan said to Sij

‘did I hear party?’ Liss said when she was getting into the kitchen

 

‘What?!’ Brian said to Kevin ‘What are you doing?’

‘well, you better get to know another girl! You’ve been like in a cage, without any hole to look outside your world! Leighanne is over, got it?’ Kevin said ‘and I just wanna help you bro. You like her… just say it!’ Brian did not say anything and laughed.

 

Yoss went shopping with Karin.

 

‘this is so great! I love this mall’ Karin smiled

‘it’s one of my favorite’ Yoss said

‘hey... can I ask you something’ Karin said after a couple of minutes without talking

‘sure’

‘are you and JC still together?’

‘oh yeah! We talk by phone every time!’ she smiled ‘he’s now in Boston. It’s hard to have a relationship like ours’ she said

‘I can imagine’ She said and stopped walking, Yoss also stopped looking at Karin.

‘what’s wrong?’ Yoss asked her.

‘nothing... I just had that feeling when someone is looking at you, ya know?’

‘oh yeah!’ she smiled and they both walked to a store.

 

In the other side of the mall…

 

‘all this is driving me nuts! I never though I will run into her again! After all this years’ Nick said to AJ and Howie while having a cup of coffee at the Star Bucks.

‘you gotta get through this! She’s dating JC now! So, get over it!’ Howie said

‘i’m working on it! Oh God! Now I see her everywhere!’ he said looking at the store in front of them

‘oh, no.. that’s her bro! With Karin’ AJ said ‘what a small word! I can’t believe they know each other’

‘you too? Come on Howie.. now you are the one who’s missing to go and fall for one of them!’ he said sarcastically ‘Go and hang up with one of her friends, so like that I can have her closer!’ nick said

‘Nick, bro! I didn’t fall for her! I just know her’

‘yeah right’ he rolled his eyes and drank his coffee. AJ just laughed

 

‘Phone’ Karina said picking up her mobile and then took a black jacket to try it on. ‘Hello?... hey Candy! What’s up?’... Really? That’s cool! Ok, perfect! So I see you later!’ She hung up ‘cool, there’s a friend who’s coming from NY. AJ’s cousin’ she said

‘Oh! So you are in the family already’ Yoss joked

‘No way’ she laughed. After trying some outfits, they both walked out with a couple of bags, in the same moment when Nick and AJ were leaving the coffee house. Howie went to her girlfriend’s house. AJ and Karin saw each other and smiled.

 

‘oh no AJ... don’t... don’t...’ Nick was repeating while they were walking to the girls.

 

‘this is just great’ Yoss talked to herself. In the same moment, Yoss’ phone rang. She saw the caller ID and it was JC. She smiled looking at Nick. ‘Hey Alex!’ she said to them ‘Karin, be right back, is JC’ she smiled and walked some steps behind them. Nick couldn’t keep his eyes out of her.

 

‘Hey guys! How are you?’ Karin said

‘Hi!’ Nick said looking at Karin and then his eyes were back to Yoss again.

‘Shopping, uh?’ AJ told her

‘Yeah, all the girls are working, Yoss and I were bored so... here we are!’ she smiled ‘so what are you up to tonight? Anything in mind?’

‘Party girl’ AJ joked ‘I don’t know, what are we doing bro?’ he asked to Nick ‘hello?? Earth calling Nick??’ he joked and Karin laughed a bit

‘Sorry... what?’

‘What are we doing tonight?’ he repeated.

‘Don’t know! Oh! Dinner with my family... Leslie’s birthday’ he said ‘so, don’t count with me’

‘Well... we can do something, if you want to’ AJ invited Karin

‘I don’t know! Ohh! Candy is coming tomorrow, did you know?’ They kept talking for a while and decided to go out that night. Yoss was hanging up when she saw Yan, Liss and Sij walking. Yoss waved them; they saw her and walked to her.

‘Well baby! Take care!’ Yoss said to JC and hung up. ‘hey girls! Done with the work?

‘Yeah! Finally’ Yan said

‘And of course.. What is the best thing to do after work...?’ Liss joked referring to go shopping

‘Where’s Karin?’ Sij asked

‘Over there. Talking with AJ and... Nick’ she said.

 

‘oh great! Everybody is here!’ Nick though

‘hey, there they are’ AJ said and Karin turned around. They all greeted each other, and then Nick and AJ left. ‘See ya tonight’ AJ said to Karin

 

‘And... What’s up with you and AJ?’ Sij asked smiling at her

‘Nothing’

‘So... that ‘see ya tonight’ is nothing’ Yan joked

‘Well, we’re having dinner together, that’s all!’ she said

‘a date!’ Sij said

‘no! Just two people who want to hang out together, and that’s it!’ Karin said, they all looked at her waiting for something else ‘what?’ she smiled and they all laughed ‘whatever!’ she laughed ‘let’s go shopping’ she added.

 

After a while, Howie was arriving with her girlfriend, Leigh, at the mall.

 

‘Long time I don’t shop!’ she said while walking with Howie.

‘Look, they finally open the new store, let’s check it out’ Howie suggested

‘Perfect, I like that dress’

‘Yes, you’ll look beautiful with it’ Howie said and she looked at him ‘you are beautiful! But it will looks great on you!’ he correct himself as they walked to the store. Leigh took the dress and went to the dressing room. Howie stayed outside.

 

‘love this shirt’ Liss though while looking at the mirror in the dressing room

‘Sweaty, can you come here?’ she heard a girl voice next to her.

‘Coming’ a guy voice was approaching to her. Liss was taking out the new shirt, and in that moment the same guy opened her door.

‘What are you doing???’ Liss yelled at him when she saw the guy in the door.

‘I’m so sorry! I though...’ he was trying to talk when his girlfriend opened the door just next to them.

‘Howie!!??’ Leigh talked to him

‘I though you were in here!’ Howie said pointing Liss room.

‘Ashore!!’ Liss said closing the door.

‘I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to see you... to open that door’ he was saying from outside. Liss was putting her shirt on. Leigh was waiting for Howie to look at her

‘Howie! Can you look at me’ she said to him ‘forget about a MISTAKE’ she said the last word out loud and went back to the room. Liss stepped out of the room and saw Howie there.

‘I’m really sorry’ he said to her. He was feeling really bad for it.

‘Imbecil’ said Liss and walked away

‘Thanks’ Howie said hopeless watching her. He didn’t understand the Spanish word.

 

‘I think I’m gonna buy this one’ Sij said looking at a black leader purse.

‘Nice one!’ Yoss said and Liss walked there. ‘Hey! How was everything?’

‘Great, until an idiot opened my door’ she said ‘I think is a singer! I’m not sure’

‘Well, at least was a famous one’ Yan joked.

‘He was cute’ Liss smiled and they all laughed.

 

The night arrived. Yoss went to JC’s place since he was arriving that night to LA. Sij, Liss and Yan went to a bar. AJ picked up Karin and they went to have dinner in a beautiful restaurant in front of the ocean. They were talking, knowing each other much better.

 

In the other side of the city, Yan, Sij and Liss were talking with some guys they met at the bar. One of the guys was Justin Timberlake, who already knew Sij from NY at the awards.

 

‘I think I’ve been in that restaurant! The food... uhmmm delicious!!’ one of the guys said

‘Thanks to our chef’ Liss said pointing Sij

‘Well, I’m not the chef! I’m just the assistant, while I’m finishing this last semester’ Sij said

‘I don’t think so’ Liss said

‘Cool! I’m having a great feeling with that’ Yan said

‘Well, you know Francis... is retiring!’ Liss said ‘and... Well, you’re my friend, a really great chef-to-be’ Liss was telling her

‘Don’t tell me that!’ Sij said surprised 

‘Yes!’ Liss said smiling

‘Oh my God!!! I can’t believe it!’

‘Congratulations!’ Justin said

‘Thanks! Oh God! Liss! I love you! This is the best news you could ever give me today!’

‘I know’ Liss said

‘This is great!’ Yan said ‘we have to make a toast for it!’ she suggested

‘Here’s to this great new chef’ Justin said

‘To this great new chef!’ all of them said with their drinks.

 

After a while, the girls were leaving the bar. Justin asked Sij her phone number. She thought after all, he was a really nice guy, but she didn’t want anything to do with him.

 

‘You know? I’m a bit drunk now’ she drank, but she wasn’t that drunk ‘why don’t you write me down your number and I call you’ she smiled and he accepted, knowing that he was being dumped by her, thing that he didn’t like at all, it was the first time a girl said ‘no’ to him. When they were leaving the place, Sij felt something weird and looked to the other side of the room. There was Kevin with a girl in a table; they were talking very close to each other. She was laughing for the things he was whispering. Sij didn’t know why, but it was uncomfortable for her, she wasn’t feeling good looking at them. For some reason, she turned around and walked to the guys again.

 

‘Hi!’ she smiled and he smiled back. She took a napkin and write down her number ‘this is my number!’ she said and laughed ‘hope to see you soon’ she said 

‘Great! See you soon’ he smiled. The girls were outside waiting for her.

 

‘What happened with her?’ Yan asked

‘I don’t know!’ Liss said and in that moment she also saw Kevin. ‘oh God. She really likes that musician!’ she said and Yan looked where Liss was looking before

‘She always denied it’ Yan said and Sij walked to them.

‘Ready?’ Sij asked ‘let’s go’ she smiled

‘What happened?’ Yan asked again

‘I just wanted to get to know a nice guy!’ she smiled and they left the place. ‘Even though I looked so dumb’ she laughed. ‘But it’s ok, Justin is nice after all’ she smiled and they left.

 

Meanwhile, AJ and Karin were in his car. He was taking her to the hotel. When they arrived in the hotel, they stopped talking. Then they looked to their faces and laughed.

 

‘Well, here you are! Safe at the hotel’ he said

‘Uhm... you wanna come to the bar?’ she invited him

‘Bar? Uhm....’

‘I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to...’ she reject the invitation when she remembered what AJ told her about his treatment and rehab.

‘It’s ok! I’m strong!’ he smiled

‘Well, there’s a pool!’ she smiled and he laughed.

‘ok! Sounds cool!’ he said and they parked the car in the Valet Parking zone. They walked to the pool, but there were all the sits and tables wet because of the rain a couple of minutes ago.

‘Oops!’ AJ said ‘let’s go to the bar! There’s no problem with me! They should have some juice or water’ he smiled. They went over the bar, but it was late and a weekday, so it was closed.

‘Damn!’ Karin complained ‘I’m sorry!’ they laughed ‘let’s go to my room! I have some... coke?!' they laughed

‘That’s perfect!’ he said because of the soda. ‘Nice’ he though ‘her room...’ he was thinking while they were walking to the elevator ‘Alex... forget about those thoughts’ he thought to himself

 

They both went to her room and walked in. AJ sat in a chair while she was serving some coke.

 

‘Can I turn on the radio?’ he asked

‘Sure! Go ahead’ she smiled, and then she gave him a glass with coke. ‘Cheers’ she smiled

‘Cheers’ he said. They were talking for a while, making jokes... They couldn’t stop laughing.

‘I can’t believe you did that!’ AJ said while serving more coke

‘I know! But there are things you just have to do in the moment before you regret of not doing it! You know?’

‘Yeah! I know!’ he said smiling and sat in the bed with her. ‘and you know something?’ he asked while getting closer to her.

‘what?’ she smiled

‘There’s one thing I better do now, before I regret of not doing it’ he said while caressing her face, feeling her soft skin.

‘and what is it?’ She asked curious. He got even closer than before; they could feel their breath.

‘This’ he said and kissed her. He put his hand on her neck while she was playing with his hair. She laid in the bed pulling AJ with her. They both were kissing, caressing their bodies with their hands inside their clothes. He started to kiss her neck while taking out her shirt. They didn’t care anything else in the world, they both just wanted to enjoy the moment. After a couple of hours they both were sleeping, Karin had her face in his chest while AJ had his arm around her.

 

The next morning...

 

In the hotel room, the alarm clock was ringing. Karin stopped it, she was between the blankets and half naked, only with a male T-shirt. She turned around and found out she was the only one in the room.

 

‘oh no!! No no no’ she was complaining to herself for the last night with AJ ‘and he leaves, like nothing happened’ she said standing up from the bed, she looked at the mirror and there she was with AJ’s T-shirt. In that moment, the phone rang.

 

‘Hello?’ she picked up.

‘Hey! Sorry I couldn’t stay with you, but I had work to do!’

‘Alex!?!’ she said surprised

‘Did you sleep ok?’

‘oh... did I sleep ok? Yes, I think so!’ she said confused.

‘Well baby...’

‘Baby? No, AJ... there’s anything between you and me!’ she said ‘we’re just friends! It was something that happened, just for... ’

‘just for that night!’ he completed the sentence disappointed.

‘Yes!’ she said and quickly corrected herself ‘no! I didn’t mean it in that way!’

‘It’s ok Karin! We’re just friends, nothing happened yesterday. We both are going to keep on going with our lives, right?’ She didn’t know what to say ‘well, uh... are you going to pick Candy up at the airport?’

‘Yes, I’m getting ready for it’ she said.

‘Ok... so, I guess I see you later?’ he said ‘it’s that ok?’

‘Yes, sure’ she said ‘gotta go now! Bye!’

‘Bye’

 

They both hung up. Karin went to take a shower and AJ was arriving to his house after an interview the boys had in a radio station. In the other side of the city, Yoss went to Sij’s place to pick her up, they both are working together in the foundation they have. Liss went to work and Yan to the university.

 

Later that morning, at the LAX...

 

‘Well, she supposed to be already here’ Karin was talking to herself while walking around in the LA airport. ‘Oh great.. Candy, you know something? I slept with your cousin!’ she though ‘well, it was a nice night! I have to admit’ she smiled ‘no, but we’re just friend, he’s AJ, from the Backstreet Boys, I bet he has thousand of girls behind him! and not only that, he’s engaged!’ she couldn’t stop thinking about him ‘...but he’s awesome!’ she smiled again

‘Woo! That’s a nice smile!’ she heard a familiar voice next to her. ‘Oh! I know you!! You did something bad!!’ Karin laughed

‘Candy!! How are you!?’ they both greeted with a hug.

‘I’m good! Well, tired cuz of the long trip...’

‘I know! Almost 5 hours in a plane!... but glad you’re here!’ Karin said and they both walked away.

 

In the meantime, Sij and Yoss were in a meeting, they were planning some festival o special party to collect money for the foundation. They finally decided to make it happen next month. After the meeting, they went to have lunch. Karin called Sijham and they all decided to have lunch at the restaurant, so like that Liss and Yan could be with them.

 

It was already lunchtime; the girls got together at the restaurant and were already waiting for their meals.

 

‘We have a long time that we don’t have lunch together!’ Liss said

‘Yeah!’ Sij said ‘so, how long are you going to be here, Candy?’

‘I don’t know, probably a couple of weeks, I have to talk with my cousin, he lives here’ she said ‘I’m staying with him’

 

They were talking, having so much fun! Howie and Kevin decided to go also and have lunch in the restaurant...

 

‘So, Brian told me that this is your favorite restaurant now, right?’ Howie joked

‘The food is... great!!’ he said ‘actually, is also Brian’s’ He added ‘I think he’s coming to join us’

‘Oh really! And what is it so special in here?’ he asked curious

‘the food’ he smiled and they follow the host to their table.

‘here is it!’ the host said ‘your waitress will be in a second with you! Enjoy your meal’ he said

‘thanks!’ Kevin and Howie said

 

In a couple of table far from them, the girls were talking.

 

‘Yes, I know!’ Candy laughed after telling a funny story of herself and then saw some friends in the other side of the room ‘oh, hold on a sec, I have to say hello to some friends’ she said standing up from the table ‘be right back’ She was walking to Kevin and Howie’s table and the girls followed her with their eyes.

‘oh great!! That’s the stupid who opened the door while I was trying the shirts’ Liss said looking at Howie ‘oh! Those are Candy’s friends’ she said when Candy approached to them.

‘oh!! So it was Howie’ Sij said

‘that one! I guess’ she said ‘so, it’s your boy’s friend’ she said joking with Sij

‘my boy?’ she laughed ‘Kevin’s not my boy! He got a wife’ she said

 

At Kevin and Howie’s table...

 

‘I didn’t know you were around here!’ Kevin said

‘Well, I just arrived this morning’ Candy said

‘Who are you eating with?’ Howie asked

‘Some friends... over there’ she pointed at the table where all the girls were talking without looking at them.

‘With Sijham, Yoss and all of them’ Kevin said

‘Yes, you know them?’ Candy said

‘you know them?’ Howie asked Candy when he looked at the beautiful girl he looked the day before at the store.

‘yes’ Candy said and saw that the meal was arriving ‘oh! Gotta go, the food is ready’ she smile ‘Guys, it was nice to see you again!’

‘yeah, you too’ Kevin said

‘take care, uh!’

‘Sure! Bye!’ she said and walked to her table.

 

When Candy got to the table…

 

‘So we have common friends’ she said.

 

After the lunch, all the girls but Liss and Sij went to Howie and Kevin’s table to say hello. They talked for a while and then the girls left.

 

Yoss went to talk with some people for the party that was having for her foundation. Planning where? When? And what is it going to be? She went with some people that wanted to show her the place where the party could be.

 

‘I like this place’ Yoss said

‘Glad you like it! We can start after tomorrow with the arrangements cuz, as you can see, tomorrow and the day after, we’re having a fashion show here’ a man who was working for her party said. There was lot of people in the place, models getting ready for the next day.

‘Yoss??’ a girl said behind them. Yoss turned around to see who was calling her.

‘Katy?? Oh my God! Long time I don’t see you! How is everything going?’ they both hugged each other.

‘Everything is great! What about you? I’ve seen some of your works!’

‘Cool! Well, everything is fine! Maybe some stuff from the past, but I have to deal with it!’

‘I guess that happen with everybody!’ They kept talking for a while, and later they both had to go back to their jobs.

‘Well, it was great to see you again! Hope we can hang out later, sometime! So like that I can get to meet your boy!’

‘Sure!’

 

Katy was a girl from Mexico. During a summer break, she went to Miami South Beach for a modeling course, where she met Yoss and they became friends after that. She lives in Texas, working with the FBI in the big city of Houston. Every time she can, she looks for some work as a model. Since a couple of weeks ago she went to LA for that fashion show she was invited. She travels a lot, because of her work as a agent of the FBI, or maybe to visit her boyfriend who is also traveling most of the time, or like she was doing now, for some fashion show she is invite.

 

In another side of the LA Area, Candy and Karin went to the beach to spend the afternoon. Yan, Sij and Liss were working at the restaurant as usual. That night, Yoss and JC went to have dinner together. Justin called Sij and they both went to a bar to hang out and know each other better. Liss, Candy, Yan and Karin went to Kevin’s place for a reunion he had at his place. Yan and Brian got together and started to talk about them. Howie wanted to go and talk with Liss, but he was with his girlfriend.

 

In some restaurant in LA…

 

‘and when is it gonna be?’ JC asked Yoss about the party

‘I think is going to be for the last week of November. So like that all the kids can get a great present for Christmas’

‘can I ask you something? Are we gonna spend this Christmas together or is it going to be like always, the whole month without seeing each other?’

‘Gosh! This is getting so difficult day by day’ she said

‘I know sweetie! This is like that’ he was saying ‘we have to deal with it, otherwise, it’s not gonna work’

‘I know. It’s been working for… a year, and some months. And probably we’ve been together for real, what? Maybe 6 months’ she said sadly. He sensed her tone and took her hands. He gave her a kiss in her hands and then caressed them.

‘It’s hard and sucks’ he said. They kept talking for a while until the meal was ready.

 

At the bar…

 

‘Can I tell you something?’ Sij said to Justin ‘I though you were different’

‘different?’ he asked

‘yeah, I don’t know. Most of the people I had met cuz of Yoss, they think they are the best thing in the world’

‘well, I’m sorry, maybe is because Yoss is like that’ he said

‘excuse me!’

‘just kidding. That’s what I though also the first time I met her’ they laughed. ‘I’m glad you think that about me’ he said. They kept talking for a while and then Justin drove her home. She told her about the party Yoss was planning for Halloween.

 

The next morning, Yoss was decorating her house in LA for Halloween that was going to be a week from then. She was having a party that night. Karin and Candy, since they did not have anything to do that morning, went to her house to help her. Also, they went shopping for some other stuff for the house. Yan and Sij were at the University and Liss at the Restaurant.

 

That week was almost over. The boys of Nsync were in their last week of the tour. The guys of BSB were in a break, most of them were in LA area with their family. Since Yoss said to the girls they can invite anyone they wanted to, Candy, Karin and Yan told Brian, AJ and Kevin and of course, they told Howie and Nick. But Nick didn’t know where the party was going to be. As well, Justin and JC were also going to the party. That Saturday afternoon, the girls went shopping to find a great costume.

 

The girls were having so much fun just looking for a great mask, dress; make up, fake hair, fake nails and more. At the Target Store, in one of the lines of the place, Yoss and Liss were joking with 2 masks.

 

‘let’s go and scare Sij’ Yoss said. Liss accepted and when they were turning around to go to the other side, Liss hit someone. Yoss saw the person and laughed taking out the mask. Liss got surprised and also took out the mask.

‘oh great’ she said

‘Hey Howie! How are you?’ Yoss said

‘Hi Yoss! Hello...’ he was waiting for her name

‘Liss, this is Howie, Howie, this is Liss’

‘nice to meet you, Liss’ He said with his hand waiting to shake her hand. She looked at him at bit confused.

‘I guess that is nice to meeting you too’ she said and they shake their hands.

‘oh Yoss, thanks for inviting me to your party’ he said. Yoss though for a second when did I invite him? And then said

‘oh! Sure! Hope you can come!’ she smiled. ‘well, see you later. I have to keep looking for some stuff’ she added and say bye to him. Liss was walking with her, but he took her arm.

‘hello? Are you holding my arm?’ she said

‘I’m sorry’ and he left her. ‘I just wanted to say I am sorry for the other day at the store’ he said

‘it’s ok’ she said after taking a deep breath and giving him a big smile. He also smiled but it did not last. Leigh, his girlfriend, was calling him and walking to them.

‘great’ Liss said ‘gotta go now. Bye’ she said and walked away.

‘bye’ he said and turned around to walk to Leigh.

 

After a couple of hours, the girls were walking with all the bags to the car.

 

‘Did you invite him to the party?’ Liss asked Yoss

‘no, I didn’t’ she was laughing. She didn’t mind they were coming to the party. She was thinking that Nick will be the only one who was not going.

‘sorry, I told Brian. Kevin and Howie were there… so’ Yan said

‘you like him!’ Sij joked

‘no, I don’t’ Liss had a big smile.

‘Yeah right’ Sij said and they all laughed.

 

Finally, the night of the party arrived. Everybody was dancing, drinking, and having so much fun. There were a lot of friends of Yoss and so many celebrities in the place. The house was decorated with a lot of black lights, ghosts, pumpkins and so different things. Also in the back yard, there was like a small cemetery.

 

‘We did a great job with the decoration’ Yoss said ‘thanks girls for your help’

‘You’re welcome’ Karin said

‘Who else is coming?’ Candy said

‘I have no idea. Well, Sij, Liss and Yan haven’t arrived yet. You told the boys of BSB. JC, Justin and Joey are coming. I also told Paul Walker, but I don’t know who’s going to make it!’ she smiled. The door’s bell rang ‘be right back’. She walked to the door, and JC was there.

‘Hey baby!’ she said giving him a kiss and a hug.

‘Sorry I couldn’t make it before’

‘it’s ok, just give me another kiss’ she was playing around, and in the moment they were kissing each other, Brian, Yan, Howie, Leigh and Nick were arriving.

‘Hello!!’ Yan said.

‘Oh! Hey!’ Yoss said turning around to see the guys.

‘Great’ Nick said to himself, no body heard him.

‘Hi guys! Glad you came!’ Yoss said. They all greeted each other.

‘Hi!’ Yoss said a bit uncomfortable to Nick.

‘Hey!’ he said

‘Well... I guess you all know JC’ she said. ‘So, come in!’ she said and they all walked inside the house.

 

When everybody got in the house, JC and Yoss stayed behind every one.

 

‘Why did Nick look at you in that way?’ JC asked her

‘Nick? How did he look at me?’

‘I don’t know, like if you were mad at each other’

‘nah! Why it will be like that? There’s nothing wrong!’ she said smiling and gave him a hug thinking ‘oh my God! How did I get into this? I love JC and I hate lying to him. But I cannot say anything about what happened with me and Nick’

 

The party was going great, everybody was having a really good time. Yoss got a call from Candy, she told her she couldn’t make it to the party cuz of the work, but she talk with her boy and they could hang out the next day in some restaurant. Yoss suggested where Yan, Sij and Liss work.

 

The next day, Brian and Yan decided to have lunch together, before she goes to classes that afternoon. So he went to pick her up at her place and they left. In the restaurant…

 

‘… so I’m just waiting for an answer from the contest, to see either if I got it or not!. I guess they will send an answer at the end of this week’ Yan said about the contest in the radio.

‘I’m sure you will get it!’ Brian said

‘of course you will’ someone next to them said. Yan looked at the person.

‘Oh my God! Samuel! I’m tired, get out off my life!’ Yan said.

‘hello?’ Brian didn’t understand

‘nice to meet you, who are you?’ Samuel said to him.

‘Brian’ he said

‘Hi Brian, I’m Yan’s boyfriend’ Samuel said

‘no Samuel, you’re not my boyfriend. And this isn’t the place to talk about it. Please, leave’ Yan said. Brian touch his forehead giving a sign to his bodyguard that was always around for anything, like that moment. A big guy came to the table.

‘is there any problem?’ big guy asked. Samuel saw him.

‘I guess is your bodyguard, you celebrities cannot defend yourself without bodyguards’ Samuel said

‘Please, leave Samuel’ Yan said again. And he did. Big guy left also.

‘Oh God, I’m sorry Brian!’

‘it’s ok! Is there any problem with him’

‘well, he’s my ex boyfriend, and we had some problems and we broke up, but as you can see he doesn’t accept that. So he still thinks we are together, and he’s not supposed to be close to me’

‘Jesus! And he’s from Mexico too?’

‘yes, we were together there, and I don’t know how did he find me here. I saw him a week ago in a club’

‘woao! you should be careful with him. I mean, since you live by yourself, when you are at college or anything else’ Brian said

‘I know’ She smiled

 

In the restaurant where Sij and Liss where working, Yoss was arriving with JC. They asked for a table for 4 and started to wait for Katy and her boy. Sijham went out to their table to say hello.

 

‘do I know her?’ Sij asked to Yoss

‘well, maybe you’ve hear about her, but I met her when I was in Miami once, and went to a fashion show. She was there with another friend and we become friends after that’

‘oh. Ok’ She said and looked to the door. She saw Nick with a girl talking to the host in the door. Sij didn’t know what to do since JC was there and she wanted to say something to Yoss. ‘well, I’ve gotta go back to work’ she said ‘it was nice to see you JC’ she said giving him a hug and then the same with Yoss ‘primixx, call me later’ she said and with the hug she said very low, so JC couldn’t hear. ‘Nick is here with a girl’ and then walked away.

‘oh great!’ Yoss said when she saw Nick coming closer to their table and he was with Katy ‘I can’t believe it’

‘what?’ JC asked without noticing

‘my friend is dating Nick Carter’ She said

 

Finally they got to the table.

 

‘Yoss! How are you?’ Katy said.

‘hey! I’m good! And you?’

‘great! Well, I don’t know if you guys know each other’

‘yes, we met a long time ago! We were like what? 16?’ Nick said sarcastically smiling

‘really? You never told me about it’ JC said to Yoss

‘well, is something that is not important!’ she smiling back to Nick ‘Katy, this is JC, my lovely boyfriend’

‘well, nice to meet you. So, you all know my boyfriend’ She smile innocent.

 

 They all sat in the table and started to talk about everything. Nick asked them how they met, and Katy told her. Then JC did the same question to Nick and Yoss.

 

‘Well, you know my grandma lives in Tampa, so every summer break, I went to visit her, so like that I could improve my English. And she lives next to Nick’s place used to be’

‘yeah, and we used to hang out at night and talk or play basketball or something else’ he said. She was a little bit nervous, thinking if he was going to say something else, but he didn’t. They changed the topic and talk about different things.

 

After the lunch, JC had to do some works and Yoss stayed at the place waiting for Sij, since she was leaving few minutes later. It was raining during that late afternoon. In the car, Yoss started to cry…

 

‘oh my God! I can’t believe it! Sij, I can’t lie to you, I still love Nick! When I saw him with Katy, I felt like the world was falling down on me. Besides he was too sarcastically with everything. I don’t know if JC noticed it, but I’m sure later I will have to tell JC all the truth. I mean, if we are gonna last for a long time, he deserve to know the truth’

‘you’re right! But I think is better not to tell anything. I mean, you know that is really hard to tell. It’s not something that you kissed and that was all! It’s worst that that’

‘I know! I know!’ Yoss said. In that moment, JC called her. ‘oh great, is JC. Should I answer him?’

‘of course! He’s your boyfriend remember?’ Sij said.

‘I know. And you know what?’ She though for a second. Didn’t say more and answered it.

‘Hello?… oh hey!… I’m pretty good... uhm… listen, can I go to your place in 5 minutes?… yes, ok… see you then, bye!’ She hung up.

‘what was that all about?’ Sij said.

‘something I had to do. I like a lot JC, I don’t love him, but I really like him. It’s been a long time we’ve been together and I really don’t wanna hurt him no more, even when he doesn’t know anything about it’ Yoss said

 

Sijham took her to JC’s place. Yoss run down the rain to his house and talked with him. After a couple of minutes, Yoss went back to Sij’s car. Still was raining. She was crying, she sat in the her seat trying to forget about everything.

 

‘what’s wrong?’ Sij asked

‘I don’t know, I really feel bad about all this. He was a bit upset, but he understood. Was I right?’

‘yes, you were right! If you really like him, is much better to take him out of this. Breaking up was a good decision’ Sij said to her.

 

While Nick and Katy were at her place…

 

‘what happen with you?’ Katy asked

‘nothing’ he said seriously

‘I don’t know, but since the lunch you’ve been very quite

‘nothing, really. Just that.. I better go, I have a lot of things to do’ he said.

‘okay. So see you later or… tomorrow?’ she asked

‘maybe tomorrow, I’ll pick you up to go to the show’ he said

‘ok, perfect’

 

Nick left her apartment and was going to his place but passed by Yoss’ place.

 

‘oh men! What am I doing here?’ he asked himself. He stopped the car in front of the house. In that moment, Sijham was arriving to drop Yoss in her house. They didn’t see Nick’s car in the other side. Yoss got off the car and walk to her place. Sij left. The security guard in the door opened the door for her and closed it. She starting walking to the main door to get in to her house. Nick got off his car and run to the door.

 

‘YOSS’ he yelled. The security guard walked to him. Yoss heard someone calling her and turned around. Was looking from far and couldn’t recognize who was the person calling her.

‘excuse me, how may I help you?’ the guard asked

‘can you call her?’ Nick said.

‘who is there?’ Yoss asked from far

‘Yoss, It’s me, Nick’ he said. Yoss was surprised for him coming to her home.

‘Nick?’ she said walking to him. ‘what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with Katy at the fashion show?’

‘no, it was this morning, there’s another one tomorrow, but I really don’t care about it right now. I need to talk with you’

‘Jake, let him in’ she said. Jake did it. Nick walked to her and didn’t say anything, he was just staring at her. ‘so..’ she was waiting for something to tell

‘do you really love him?’

‘what?’ she wasn’t expecting that at all.

‘do you love him?’

‘Nick... why are..?’ she saw someone in the other side and decided to take him inside the house. ‘come on. Let’s go in’ she said and they both walk to the house.

‘why are you asking me that?’ she said after closing the door.

‘cuz I wanna know!’ he said ‘nice house by the way’

‘thanks. But, ok.. first at all, not your business. I did love him, I still like him, but I broke up with him few minutes ago’

‘what? Why?’

‘you wanna know why? Because of you!’ she was really upset. ‘that’s why’

‘me? What do I have to do with all this?’

‘oh my God! And you ask me why?’ she said ‘where can I begin with? Uh, let’s see, we met a long time ago, we become really good friend till that night when all happened. I though we were meant to each other, but after all you said to me, I was wrong’

‘I said bout you?’ he was amazed because he believe in something different as hers. ‘what about what you did? It doesn’t count’

‘I didn’t want it to happened like that!’ she turned around trying to calm down. Then she turned to him again ‘you know what? Get out of my house! I don’t even know how do I let you in, I don’t know why are you doing here, so… please, leave’ she said opening the door’ He just looked at her and then left. She closed the door and sat in the floor, a beautiful dog, Miniature Schnauzer, run to her.

‘hey baby’ she said caressing the dog. ‘you’re the only boy who doesn’t give me any problems to thing about’ she said. 

 

The next morning, Yan was at her place. As every morning, after waking up, she went to the kitchen, drink some juice and went to check the mails. She got a special letter that made her smile. She opened it and read it.

 

‘Oh my GOD!!!!’ she was really happy, screaming very energetic. ‘I have to tell somebody!!’ she pick up the phone and made a call without thinking who to call.

‘Hello?’

‘Brian!! I got it! I just got a letter telling me to go tomorrow morning to the radio station!’ she said

‘That’s wonderful!! good for you!’ Brian said ‘if you want, I can go with you’

‘no, it’s fine, I rather go by myself, otherwise, I’ll be really tense’

‘oh ok. That’s fine, you’re gonna do great’ he said ‘so, what are you doing now?’

‘I just wake up, I have to go to one class and then to work’

‘want me to pick you up?’

‘oh no… maybe I’m taking your time!’

‘no, I’m fine, I’m not doing anything, so I can pick you up and drive you to college’

‘well… if it’s ok with you… it’s ok with me then’ she said.

 

So she went to get ready and in 30 minutes Brian was already there. They went to college and he dropper her there.

 

‘well, thanks. Sij is picking me up later to go work’ she said

‘ok… oh, by the way, there is a fashion show tonight, I don’t know if you wanna come with me. Nick’s girlfriend is modeling tonight, so she invited us’

‘oh! That sounds cool!’ she said

‘perfect, so I’ll pick you up at your place at 8?’

‘sure!’ she said and then walk to her classroom’

 

While she was walking to her classroom, a friend of hers joined her.

 

‘hey Mary what’s up?’ Yan greeted her.

‘nothing much! Did you study?’

‘yes, I spent the entire night studying. Looks kind of hard, isn’t it?’

‘yes! Hey… that guy that dropped you looks like this singer, from the Backstreet boys’

‘who? Brian?’ Yan asked wondering

‘yes! Did you notice it?’ Mary asked her.

‘I know! A lot of people say that’ she said and laughed ‘you know what it might be?’

‘what?’

‘that maybe is him!’ she laughed harder

‘are you kidding me?’

‘no, I’m not… Mary, that’s him!’ she said

‘for real? That’s cool! Why don’t you ask him to help you out with the radio?’

‘no, I don’t wanna do that! He’s a really nice guy! He’s been so kind with me’

‘you like him?’ she asked smiling

‘no! he’s just a friend’ Yan said ‘so, I don’t feel like using nor him or anyone else to get my goals, you know?’

‘sure! That’s right!’. They finally got in  the classroom and started their test.

 

The night arrived, Kevin went with Kristin, Brian went for Yan, Howie went with his girlfriend, Nick went by himself since Katy had to be there earlier. And AJ went with Candy. Liss, Yoss and Karin went together. Justin and Sij went together to the show, and JC went by himself.

 

At the show, all of them were siting in different places. JC was next to Yoss since those places were arrangement before, and next to her Liss and Karin were sited. Facing them was Nick together with the rest of the guys. Sij and Justin were almost facing Kevin and Kristin, just that they couldn’t see each other easily. They all were first row in front of the aisle where the models were going to pass through.

 

‘I did love him, I still like him, but I broke up with him few minutes ago’ Nick was remembering what Yoss told him last night while looking at her and JC next to her, even though they weren’t talking. She was talking wit Karin and Liss.

 

‘That’s great! I haven’t talk with her today, but I’m sure she’ll do great’ Yoss said after Liss was telling them about Yan.

‘hey look, there they are’ Karin said pointing at Yan in the other side. In that moment, Yoss saw Nick looking at her and he quickly looked to another way.

‘he was looking at you’ Liss said about nick. Even when they were talking very low, Jc could heard that.

‘shh’ Yoss said pointing that JC was next to her. They didn’t know they broke up.

‘what about Yan with Brian, then she said they are just friends’ Karin said and they laughed.

 

‘so how was your test today?’ Brian asked Yan

‘I guess I did good! It was tricky, but I think I did a good job’ she said

‘nice to hear that’

‘hey! Yoss and the girls are there’ she said when she saw Liss waving. She waved back, and so Brian did. Then the lights went out and the show begging. Everything was great, the show was very good. And of course, then everybody were at the after party.

 

JC and Justin were talking, JC was telling him Yoss broke up with him. In the other side, Yoss and Sij were talking…

 

‘he didn’t say anything?’ Sij asked about JC

‘no, he was normal, like nothing happened’ Yoss said ‘but still I’m feeling bad about it’

‘it’s ok, I know how you feel, but it was the best’ Sij said and in that moment JC and Justin approached

‘the best? So like that you can show your true feelings?’ JC said. Sij and Justin decides to leave them alone.

‘what?’ Yoss said

‘don’t deny it Yoss… you like Nick and probably he likes you back’

‘I’m sorry, what?’ Yoss kept saying.

‘I heard you, you broke up with me so like that you could be with him, am I right?’

‘the last thing I want right now is you telling me that! I don’t want anything with anybody, I didn’t broke with you because of that cuz it’s not true’ They were kind of fighting but really low so no one could hear them. Katy and Nick were talking, he was congratulating her and then saw Yoss talking in not a good way with JC.

‘look, I don’t wanna talk about this right now, but all that you are saying is false! Got it?’ she said and left.
