Brad Leeb is ready to take the next step.
The Manitoba Moose right-winger is still feeling the effects of an injury to his left knee -- suffered in a knee-to-knee collision with Doug Doull in the first period of a game with the St. John's Maple Leafs on Feb. 17 -- but plans to take to the ice this morning.
"It will be more like public skating," said Leeb, who hasn't skated since the injury occurred. "I've been getting a lot of treatment and just need to keep working on the strength and flexibility."
Leeb, who has 17 goals and 32 points in 56 games, is hoping to get back in action this weekend as the Moose host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday and Sunday to round out a five-game homestand.
He's got a little extra motivation as his older brother Greg is coming to town with the Bulldogs, but Leeb also knows that he can't rush back and risk further injury with only 16 games remaining in the regular season.
