LIFE OF BRYAN: Strudwick appears to be out of the mix again. The Canucks seem determined to give Bryan Allen another look. He was recalled on the weekend and played in Monday night's 4-2 win over Phoenix.
This is Allen's fourth stint with the Canucks, including his call-up during last spring's playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche.
"He's obviously closer each and every time he comes in," Crawford said. "I've said all along he is going to be a piece of our team and is a big part of the Canucks as we go forward. We have a decent group of defencemen right now and he is taking advantage of an opportunity through an injury and we're just confident that he is going to continue to progress. He needs to just keep playing."
Allen is filling a spot vacated by Murray Baron, who is out until after the Olympic break with a broken knuckle.
